OK. Thanks.
Sounds like our entire country is going nuts on housing.
Be careful out there, folks. Things can go south quicker than you ever imagined.
Until our borders are shut, I'm not sure I see an end to increasing prices... People are fleeing newly created 3rd world slums, aren't they?

That, and the crumbling inner-cities with the horrific tax burdens that our genius politicians are burdening us with.
Land values an hour outside of Austin are now in the ten thousand dollar per acre range - and people are buying! And I can't blame them...just to stay here in casita lodwick, the various taxing entities demand over $600 per month.
I used to live semi-well on six hundred bones a month back in the day.
Chow, ciao.
$600/month! Good gracious! Retirees here are very concerned about the escalating tax rates.

Anyone with a brain should be up in arms over all the various taxing authorities that are hosing us down. I miss the days of the poll tax, when if you didn't own property, you had no say in any election that affected property taxes, or anything else for that matter.
I just watered the lawn, and now there's a flock of birds removing all the insects that have come up for air...nature's truly amazing.
A lawn! Gasp. The birds sound nice.
Kid Life
If they make it on the moving staircase...
we will throw them down the garbage chute.
People who scraped together money for homes but not for children shouldn't have to pay for those who breed and won't pay for schools.

I'm with you a hundred percent on that one.
Austin public schrools are able to graduate a stunning 40% of those that enter HS, so I would put their incompetence up against anyone else's...we are also the minority here, as of two years ago.
All they're missing are pillows and airbags over there.
Where's the monkey bars, the huge slides, etc. that you could really enjoy as a kid? Those things that spun around and could sling you off for meters should you become dizzy and lose your grip?
What a pussified world we've become.
Cheers, aCe.
Yeah, I wouldn't mind quite as much if the school systems were sanitary, safe, and intellectual hubs of activity. I'd feel my money were an investment in the future of the country. Now, I might as well take my paychecks and toss them in the toilet. Apparently, tons of our money goes to overhead and bureaucracy too... well, that's pretty much the case for everything, not just schools.
Having only vacationed in Spain, I've no idea what the permanent residents pay in taxation tribute. Would you give us an update on that facet of expatriation?
Is owning or renting a better go?
Thanks.
(or whatever that cold, hard material was)

Yes, it was steel, it was made to last for generations, and yes, the occasional spaz did fall and break off a few chicklets, or crack their dome, or arm or whatever - but that was just part of being a spaz.
I guess the cities and counties got sued into going for the foamy things - for the chilrun, of course.
Time to go get things going for some "New, Extra-Crispy" Mrs. Paul's mystery fish thingies here.
Continue on.
ABC's Extreme Makeover just had the most wonderful show about a Navaho Reservation in the AZ, featuring Jessica Lynch, who was honoring her Indian friend who died over there.
There were lots of Vets, and even some of the Wind Whisperers who broke Enigma in WWII who came to the new center for them on the reservation.
Really good stuff, ABC. Ups to you.
You killed the thread.
Oh - thanks - I was waiting for that show to come on and I didn't know when they would air it. I have a postcard from the Piestewa family right above my computer. Lori was actually a Hopi Indian, but that is surrounded by the Navajo Reservation and commonly confused.
When you said "Continue on", everyone left!
