Casino Royale? Wasn't that a spoof movie?

Sigh. He'll just always be the wonderful Remington Steele to me. Bond who?

Good to see him back. He's actually a very good man from what I've read. He stood by his wife gallantly as she died of cancer. I think he's now remarried.

I still hold favor for Sean Connery as Bond. Really enjoyed those movies....

I think so. But it's being re-written, so it may be nothing like the original.

Another producer besides Broccoli had bought the rights to Casino Royale in the 50s and never filmed it - and then when Broccoli had a hit with Dr. No and sequels, decided to dust off those rights and make a rival Bond flick.

They did it as a spoof, with a young Woody Allen playing one of the major characters.

Ian Fleming hated it and felt they took too many liberties.

Now Broccoli's successors have reacquired the rights and want to make a more traditional Bond movie out of it.

Good. Pierce is a real Bond fan himself, and it would have beeen a real pity if he missed Casino Royale. He isn't Connery, but I think he has done quite well.

I have not thought of Pierce so highly since I saw this last year. From Mi6.co.uk, link to article Pierce Brosnan says he gained his US Citizenship in order to vote for John Kerry As first revealed by MI6 earlier in the week, the four times James Bond gained his US Citizenship in an LA District Court House on September 23rd 2004. Pierce Brosnan was accompanied by his wife Keely Shaye-Smith. Manager of the Jury and Naturalization department, Frank Galvan, awarded Brosnan in the usual low-key ceremony, just weeks ahead of when voters will decide between Kerry and President Bush as the USA's leader for the next four years. Brosnan said, "I want to have a voice. I want to be able to vote for John Kerry."

But I thought that guy who looked like a Russian ballet dancer, forget his name, had been picked to replace Brosnan?
