Well, they went and did it.
The Republicans look like they will wimp out, not exercise the so-called Nuclear Option, and Harry Reid will PERMIT two judges to be approved and disapprove four others. Does anyone think for a second the Democrats won't "go nuclear" in a heartbeat if the roles were reversed?
This seals the deal for me. I am a Republican no more. It seems it does not matter if I vote Republican anyways, all I get is more liberalism. I am a man without a political party. I am a conservative without a home.
Between Bushes enthusiastic embrace of illegal immigration, and our party's inability to get even moderately conservative judges approved, what's the freakin' point of voting Republican any more? What's the point of voting? I will get liberalism no matter how I vote. My main issue is guns, and it appears the Democrats have learned their lesson on that one, so it appears I will be safe on the firearms front. Everything else the Republicans stand for, they stand for in word only. They do not seem to want to act. Therefore, I do not seem to want to vote Republican any more.
This is my Opus -- not from Free Republic, but from the Republican party. Even when they have the majority, they surrender.

Then why the hell would they care what you think, and why wouldn't they keep on doing all the stupid crap they've been doing for years and years, just to retain power over your life and your money?

Perhaps it's time to form a new pary - The Conservative Party of America. Something more sensible than the Libertarians.
Sometimes it does feel as if voting for certain Republicans is voting for the lesser of two evils, but that's a hell of a lot better than letting the worst candidate win.
You can always stay home or cast a protest vote for some third party wacko, but if you want tax increases instead of tax cuts, if you want the UN to run this country, if you want Kyoto, etc., etc., then follow through with your threat.
There is a significant difference between Republicans and Democrats, even if you can't currently remember what the difference is.
Same here. I will not donate any $$$ to the RNC until the Republicans grow some b@lls and realize that THEY ARE THE MAJORITY PARTY! Is there anyone representing the conservative people anymore?

LOL. My GOPus threat didn't do any good except maybe to give people a rallying point to fax and email? Certainly at least to vent. Hopefully the Republicans will go forward and get these judges nominated, because all one need do is point them to this thread to let them know how mad conservatives are, and how close many of them -- myself included -- are to jumping ship.

This is not about personalities but about conservative principles and Rush has them.
Nonsense. It's about ratings and entertainment and Limbaugh evidently, provides enough to keep his audience servile and happy and his advertisers happy too. The fact that he can also espouse right-leaning politics is incidental.
But hey, nothing wrong with making a buck off your principles.
This is the position we have been in for the last ten years or more. It has gotten to the point holding my nose is not enough anymore to vote for some of these clowns. I need a stiff shot of bourbon before I walk in to the polling place. I am done past getting tired of voting for rinos whose so saving grace is they are not rats.
I will continue to support individual candidates btu the party has lost my support for the forseeable future.

Liberals infiltrated the Republican party and ruined it. They did the same thing to the Libertarian Party.
People in political parties will sell out for the prospect of power instead of telling these people to go away.
At an airport one night
With several long hours
Before her flight.
She hunted for a book
In an airport shop,
Bought a bag of cookies
And found a place to drop.
She was engrossed in her book
But happened to see,
That the man sitting beside her,
As bold as could be,
Grabbed a cookie or two

With each cookie she took,
He took one too,
When only one was left,
She wondered what he would do.
With a smile on his face,
And a nervous laugh,
He took the last cookie
And broke it in half.
He offered her half,
As he ate the other,
She snatched it from him
And thought....ooh, brother!
This guy had some nerve
And he's also rude,
Why he didn't even show
Any gratitude!
She had never known
When she has been so galled,
And sighed with relief
When her flight was called.
She gathered her belongings
And headed to the gate,
Refusing to look back
At the thieving ingrate.
She boarded the plane,
And sank in her seat,
Then she sought her book,
Which was almost complete.
As she reached in her baggage,
She gasped with surprise,
There was her bag of cookies,
In front of her eyes.
If mine are here,
She moaned in despair,
The others were his,
And he tried to share.
Too late to apologize,
She realized with grief,
That she was the rude one,
The ingrate, the thief!
