We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!
Good morning!!
Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
A new Pope is elected, Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger who has chosen the name, Pope Benedict XVI. The libs are whining already about how it could result in continued internal dissension within the church.
President Bush will more than likely be naming Marine Gen. Peter Pace as the next chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Pace will be replacing Air Force Gen. Richard B. Myers. You served us well General Myers. You will be missed.
John Boltons nomination as ambassador to the United Nations is postponed. Remember the names Republican Sens. Chuck Hagel of Nebraska and George Voinovich of Ohio. They are wimping out on us.

I've run a scan and all seems to be okay. Bizarre.
Looks like it's not going to rain after all today (those darned weathermen!) so I'm planting annuals today. later...

Well, we were supposed to have AM storms here too, but so far nothing. Which is actually a good thing except you can't believe the weatherman.
Must try to get some things accomplished, before Rush comes on. Believe he will have a thing or two to say about Voinovich and the others.

Hello folks. Long time no chat.
I too used to hear the term "full of prunes" back when my parents were still alive. Cant say if I've heard it since then.
lysie, that's quite a story about the 90yo woman who fought off the bobcat to rescue her little calico. I sometimes wonder what I'd do if one of our kitties was attacked by one of the eagles that we see quite often.
We've had some warm days that've helped the daffodils to start blooming. Have had crocuses, chionocoxa, and a couple of early primroses as well. Today is cooler but I'll be running the oven today to bake raspberry pies in honor of my "baby" turning 15 today.
He has a half day of school and his friends and he have a sort of a club for half days where they all go out to lunch (the lunch bunch they call themselves) and we'll eat out somewhere of his choosing tonight. He wants to postpone his teenager birthday party when the weather is warmer as he plans to include some beach time. Optimist!
Older son was home last weekend from college to get his wheels out of storage. He's lined up a summer job as a soccer coach at a Christian camp in lower Michigan. It's at a town called Evart, gardner, is that by any chance near you, generally speaking?
From what I've read about the new Pope, he sounds like an excellent choice. Congratulations to all of our Catholic FRiends.

Ok, I am semi-awake now...;-))
In a Weekly Standard article (of all places) by Matt Labash on
Ward Churchill, there is this hilarious exchange with one Earl Neconie, a
real native American who was protesting Ward Churchill outside a Beserkely speaking event:
I ask Neconie what his Indian name is. "Just Neconie," he responds. "It's an old Kiowa name. I don't have one like Standing Water, or Leaky Faucet, or anything like that." I ask him what he thinks of Churchill's Indian name, which is "Keezjunnahbeh," meaning "kind-hearted man."
Neconie shrugs. He hadn't heard of it. "But Bay Area Indians, we have our own name for him. We just call him Walking Eagle."
"Why?" I ask.
"Because," says Neconie, gathering up his placards, "a Walking Eagle is so full of s--that it can no longer fly."

Did you get your foot checked? Or will it be after work? Still hurt?
Sarah woke me up last night to inform me she fell on one of the hydrant in the barn. She has quite a gash near he left eyebrow. Her eye is now black and blue and swollen. I picked a few of these
for her. My poor baby. :-(

I once told Deej that my Schwartz was bigger than hers! She turned me into a newt! I got better, but then I laid a Faberge Egg and James Bond saved me! Then we all had ice cream. That was a sticky situation!
HA! Spaceballs, Monty Python, Faberge, James Bond, AND South Park. ;^)

The foot is ok...nothing broken, and I didn't think there was.
Boss was just convering herself, rightly so, due to Workman's Comp, etc.
I did however have to get a Tetanus/DPT shot :-(
I am a major baby when it comes to needles.
Doc sent me home to elevate foot and rest till tomorrow.

Quick hello to all..
Gardner your ggb is gorgeous.. beautiful. was she C section? Her face is perfect. thank you Lysie for helping us to see this precious child.
Molly.. I have already called & emailed Sen V's office. I had a long wait on phone to talk to a person. I am sure they figure people will hang up & I am sure many do. What a @$%($&%.....
Laura Ingram this AM mentioned she hoped that if Senator Broadside decides to run for president there will be LOTS of press about how she treated the secret service & other "underlings". She will not be known as Ms. Nice will she?
Toby.. hope the doc visit went well.. thank you for keeping us posted.
Ride, glad son has a fun sounding job.. where he can really make a difference also. Guess your snow is about gone? ha!
I have been outdoors sunrise to sunset most days the past few weeks. Took a hike with friend John &his dogs at 10:30...thunder & heavy rain permeated most of our 2 hour outing. The dogs didn't mind the rain but Oliver does NOT like 'boom boom'. The sun is out now but the "big storms" are due here in a few hours.
Nita.. sorry about your foot.. were you in the original ATRW Klutz group? I was one of the charter members and still can claim to possibly be the klutziest person on thread.
Such wonderful news on the conservative Pope. wish he were younger but I do hope that he will keep a sharp mind for the years the Lord gives him here. Interesting reading about the Malakay (Malachi) both spellings no doubt wrong.... predictions & how this pope fits the pattern
