"Two weeks ago, Mae Magouirks aorta had a dissection and she was hospitalized in the LaGrange Hospital in LaGrange, Ga. Her aortic problem was at first determined to be severe and she was admitted in the intensive care Unit. Her granddaughter, Beth Gaddy, a teacher at the Calloway Middle School in LaGrange, stated that she held Mae Magouirks medical power of attorney and thus invoked said powers against the wishes of Mae Magouirks closest living next of kin by having her moved to Hospice-LaGrange. While at Hospice-LaGrange, Beth Gaddy stated that her wishes were for no nourishment for Mae Magouirk via a feeding tube or fluids via an IV. Before hospitalization Mae was lucid and never had been diagnosed with dementia as was testified to in Probate Court on Monday, April 4, by a local MD."
Here are some contact links I am using that may be useful.
First is to AFA contact box and the second is a search toolkit.

Thanks Mom,
I used your link
http://www.afa.net/contact.asp
And contacted them. Hopefully they will step up and help.
Does anybody have an e-mail address for the Judge (holds nose while asking)?
Can someone get that for the rest of us? Volunteers? Probably would have to call his office. I know BykrBabe (spelling) schmelvin or eeevil conservative probably have the phone number. eeevile conservative has a lot on her plate, perhaps if a phone number is provided someone can call and get his e-mail address.
I don't have the e-mail, but here's the phone number, and the case number.
Probate Judge Donald Boyd (706) 883-1690)
Court CASE NUMBER: Estate 138-05
Here is another contact link for Concerned Women of America:

I contacted them and will call in the morning. uhhh, actually in a few hours. Gotta go to bed.
If I heard a radio stream correctly, this is due to bad legislation. If I just heard correctly, Georgia law: closest living relative has the power of attorney.
Using the second toolkit link I was able to mail this story and it's urgency to the following local contacts:
Georgetown News-Graphic
Lexington Herald-Leader
The Richmond Register
WUKY 91.3 FM (NPR)
WVLK 590 AM
Can you please backtrack to the station---to the host---to the person being interviewed--and get authoritative information?
A transcript, exact quotes, law citations, specific court cases and dates?
Do what you can to get me (and all) that information, please.
"Why is she even IN hospice? Which is illegal as she is not terminal"
That is an excellent question.
Bump!
This is why it's important to find out the facts. The initial post said that this woman given emergency power is NOT the closest living relative, if I'm not mistaken.
Regardless, it shows HOW important it is that we respect a person's right to choose their care. If we had a culture of respect for individual rights, then the issue wouldn't be cloudy--it would be "Look at her Living Will--it says right there that she wouldn't want this!" but instead, that point gets lost.
Assuming the information presented in the intial post is factually correct, then this is one sick situation.
Her living will.
That might be GA law where nothing is in writing, but not relevant to this case, it would seem, as Mae has the various powers written down. She has also written down that she wants to be fed and watered.
ALL: Note the equating of animal feeding tubes = torture and in Mass., with the radical State Supreme Court that tried to "feeding tube" homosexual marriage onto its citizens!
Do NOT question the timing--NOTE it.
Mass. pols vow to ban `reprehensible' gourmet goose treat
"a feeding tube is inserted down a goose's throat..."
