Martin Luther King and Gandhi.

Peacefully resist and break the law, take the arrest that follows as a badge of pride.

This is not Jeb's fault. Target your anger towards the elected judge and those Senators who voted NO. Get those people out of office, then change the law. Jeb will be FOR changing the law, you will need him there to sign the law.

If this is true, then who needs a governor? Let Judge Greer run the state. That's what is happening now!

Larry Klayman, founder of the legal watchdog group Judicial Watch, said Bush has the power to grant her clemency, just as he would in a death-row case.

Unreal. Klayman seems to get dumber by the minute.

Governor Reagan in California, and later, President Reagan, would have rejected that whining 'oh I've done all I can do' crapola, the Gipper would have had State National Guard troops and/or federal marshalls rescuing Terri Schiavo and would have had his Attorney General place that scumbag Greer under arrest for leading an insurrection.

Ronald Reagan actually BELIEVED in upholding the Constitution.

"I don't have powers........"

Replace the word "powers" with the words courage, vision, wisdom, decency and I will agree.

One thing he can do, albeit and sadly after the fact, is to order an autopsy. If there's a scintilla of suspicion surrounding the conditions leading to her death, a post-mortem is not only reasonable, it is mandated by law. This is the last thing "Scott" Schiavo and his Kervorkianesque attorney, Felos, desire. Force these lying b*st*rds to contend that Terri's wish was to be immediately cremated!

Bull. He does have the right to intervene. Just not the will.

If George Greer walked into the hospice room and pointed a gun at Terri, Jeb Bush would be authorized to use his police powers to stop him, notwithstanding that George Greer had ordered that he had the power and that no one could stop him. This is the same thing; Judge Greer cannot order the governor to stop enforcing the law. He can say after the fact that the Governor was wrong and that the law was not i fact being violated, but at the time it is enforced, that is the prerogative of the Governor.

Timidity in the face of evil is cowardice.

"I don't have powers from the United States Constitution or – for that matter from the Florida Constitution – that would allow me to intervene after a decision has been made."

LIAR!

(Florida Constitution)
ARTICLE I
DECLARATION OF RIGHTS
SECTION 2. Basic rights.
--All natural persons, female and male alike, are equal before the law and have inalienable rights, among which are the right to enjoy and defend life and liberty......

NO elected official gives up their inalienable natural right to DEFEND life, nor can that right be taken or abridged by judicial fiat.

As governor, he would get the 'elite' treatment that all politicians do when facing our (gag) legal system!

Hi,

I've tried to create new articles only to have the Admin Moderator pull the threads again and threaten me with suspension if I start threads again (despite I see dozens of pro-Terri threads initiated every day here).

So, if I get suspended, good luck and I wish you the best. Four years of participation down the drain due to the Admin Moderator's personal bias.

FYI, here's the article that has been pulled twice today:

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
BRAVO TO THE BUSHES FOR NOT BREAKING THE LAW

President George W. Bush and his brother Governor Jeb Bush of Florida want Terri Schiavo's feeding tube reinserted. They don't want her to die. President Bush even cut his vacation short by flying back to Washington to sign the ultimately futile and apparently unconstitutional congressional bill.
They have gone to the limits of their authority under the US and Florida Constitutions. Neither can do any more for her.
Despite their best efforts and desires; they have been attacked, demonized and condemned by the very people they were supporting. Somehow these protesters are upset that they don't unilaterally break the law just because they want them to.
These people have vowed they will never vote Republican again and will especially never vote for Jeb Bush. Somehow President Bush and Governor Jeb Bush are now guilty of wanting her to die just because they refuse to break the law.
Breaking the law is very serious, especially for political leaders. They can be impeached and even go to jail. The Bush brothers wisely steered clear of placing themselves in harm's way by obeying the protesters' demands.
Do these protesters really want their political leaders to violate the US Constitution under pressure from special interest groups?
Won't these same conservative and religious protesters get livid and devastated if the next democratic leaders break the law under pressure from leftist groups? Perhaps their freedoms will be targeted. Perhaps their homes shall be confiscated. Perhaps their religion will be persecuted.
Only fools demand their leaders break the law - the moment this becomes acceptable; the slippery slope is stepped upon and every group with their own agendas will be demanding similar action.
Those condemning the Bush brothers and other Republicans for refusing to violate the law should ask themselves if they want satanists to begin running their churches? After all, perhaps the satanists will be demanding the next democratic leaders also break the law and violate the US Constitution by making satanism the official religion of the US.
What goes around comes around. Let us not forget it.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
