Who made the card? Usually it's DVI-I, but if you know the manufacturer, you can probably check their website to be sure.

im guessing an adapter should work, my radeon X800 XT uses an adapter and works fine. 6800 is a good card, what kind of computer. i.e Dell, gateway? or Clone.

Who manufactured the video card - GeForce is the model of NVidia video chip on the card, but it's the manufacturer of the card who decided on what additional cables and adaptors to include in the kit. Most likely, very likely, Alienware included the adaptors for not one, but two VGA monitors, as this card, with adaptors, will readily work with dual DVI, DVI+VGA, dual VGA, or DVI + TV.

One of the best things I've done recently is get a DVI capable LCD monitor. I highly recommend ViewSonic.

Most NVidia cards come with a DVI to VGA adapter. Heck I got two of em with my 6800 Ultra. You should have zero problems.
