The parents of Terri Schiavo/Schindler just made an impassioned appeal to Florida Governor Jeb Bush to save their dying daughter. Mrs. Schiavo was obviously tired and spoke in a restrained manner, but her husband, Robert, although looking terribly fatigued, used very strong language and placed much of the blame for his daughter's seven days of "torture" directly on Jeb Bush, blaming him for the inaction that is letting Terri be murdered by a "tyrannical" judiciary.
Mr.Schindler says that the Governor has the power to end their ordeal with a "stroke of the pen" and if he had courage he would do it.
Actually it was a plea for you to gather yourself and perhaps consider your statements on this subject a little more carefully. In light of the fact that you fancy yourself an adjunct of the Catholic Church and all.
It might be wise before you make any more statements to consider the church's position on this matter.
Great graphics.
Before ever setting up concentration camps to kill Jews, the Germans starved hundreds of thousands of their own citizens to death. These included the mentally retarded, the senile elderly, disabled World War I vets, orphans, and the terminally ill.
In the orphanages, children were selected for starvation based on such "abnormalities" as being bedwetters, or having ears that stuck out.
The newspapers of German towns were filled with inordinate numbers of obituaries in the late 30's. People wondered why so many were dying, when there were no epidemics.
The Nazis, however, found starvation a tedious method to achieve their aims. They appointed an elite group to study quicker methods, and thus the concept of the "shower rooms" with cyanide gas came into being.

You're credibility as an activist is lost for each hour you sit in front of a computer, posting to complete strangers.
Well crap. As an Indian I better get the hell out of dodge then, huh, or the American Nazis are gonna get me...
I'll get right on that.
IMHO It's not just Jeb - it's all of us who are cowed by the lawyers and judges. No father, brothers, neighbors, or actvists pushed their way into the building of death. And after the tryannical Judge Greer gave congress his middle finger to their Legislative bill, THEY did nothing. Not a peep.
We both know that Clinton & Reno did anything they wanted - even burned some children alive - and nothing happened to them. If we did the same there could very well be an impeachment. We Rs still have a lot of history to overcome to regain our power.
Jeb did try but I think he was not quick enough and word leaked out and a scene was set for violence.
We must blame outselves as well - have WE stormed the judicial doors in our towns all across America? No, we have not.
Were 100,000 angry Americans shouting and surrounding the hospice? No, a hundred maybe... and they were respectful.
There is a drawback to a cilivilzed nation I think, and that is a hesitancy to action.
The Church does not advocate lawlessness.
"Randal Terry is trying to save this woman's life.
Randall Terry is only in it for Randall Terry."
Maybe...maybe not. He is doing a damn site more to save an innocent woman's life than you are.
Yeah, but he's been just as effective as we have, hasn't he? Maybe he should have spent less money on buses, and more money on good lawyers - lawyers who would actually argue legal points, rather than religious dogma...
Just a thought.
Jeb? Shindlers, it's not Jeb. It's the whole stinkin' mess of croney-ism: judges, cops, lawyers, DEMS. Good old boy buddy system. The same one that kept blacks down years ago. Florida is full of 'em, has been for a loonnngg time.
For someone who's been through a lot, they sure find time to hold press conferences when the opportunity arises.
Saw the father's press conference a couple hours ago and was appalled. Jeb worked for this case before it hit the national headlines. He did more for the Schindlers than one individual case deserved because her family was so tireless in demanding help. Hopefully this is just the father's stress and agony speaking. I pray that he finds peace in his heart when this is over, since his life has been focused for fifteen years on the vain hope that his daughter would get better.
If you are inflamed and angered by a variance of opinion, that's your problem.
Where were you six months ago, when something could actually have been done to prevent this outcome?
Yeah, but I don't have a dark checkered adulterous past like he has.
They said nothing new tonight.
The Senate did vote before the House but only AFTER the verbiage had been changed . . . Had the Senate Democrats not insisted on this change, the bill would have been passed on Thursday or Friday. Subsequently, had House Democrats not forced a floor debate, the final bill would have been passed on Sunday versus Monday morning.
[Bottomline: We all know who the villains are in this tragedy and their last names are NOT Bush!]
Many a true word is spoken in jest.
This human race has a long history of people wanting to kill you just because of what you are.
I know you are treating this all lightheartedly, Chad, but I think you are really fearful. This is what I sense in your posts.
Whistling in the dark helps a little.
No one ever thought the German people could become such coldhearted killers either. But it really happened. And not that long ago, historically speaking.
This is my understanding of the meat and truth of this issue, as well, gbcdoj. Matthews RARELY gets thinks straight. And on the off chance that he *does* ever know truth that goes against his favored spew, he purposefully misleads, twists, and omits. Sometimes laughingly. Most times transparently.
