I love my forties! Kids are grown and I finally have the time to do my own thing and I feel GREAT!! You've got the right attitude. Forty is not the end of the world - it's the beginning of a whole new life! YEEEEHAH!

The Canadian actor says: "It was a nightmare. It reminded me of adolescence and it felt like an internal transformation with physical aspect, like when your hormones run wild. "But this time with a conscious shift, an awareness of your own mortality." Most unexcellent psychobabble.

I turned 30 years old some 9 years ago. It was hard for me to turn 30 (just like you), but I will tell you that going from 30 to 40 goes a lot faster than what is does from 20 to 30. So get past your 30th birthday blues and stop worrying about getting older and just start enjoying everyday of your life more and try to live a healthy lifestyle and should live a nice long life. You will mellow out more also while you are in your 30's. Life gets better everyday once you start living it and stop worrying about how old you are or that you are getting older.
Now I am pushing 40 (I will be 39 in July) and it does not bother me one bit. Bring it on 40! Bring it on 50! Bring it on 60! Bring it on 70+! - I welcome you!
Stop worrying and start enjoying!

substandard grooming increases their chances of being heterosexuals.Possibly. But it doesn't increase their chances of picking up women who want to be w/someone who looks decent. Not devastatingly handsome, just decent.
btw - My son is as hetero as they come and spends as much time grooming as a girl. It's not a sin to want to be clean, take care of your skin, take care of your clothes & shoes, and want your hair to look nice. You'd be surprised at how many men apparently just stop doing any of this. It isn't pretty and you aren't a metrosexual just because you maintain your appearance. Just sayin'

Yeah, Keanu, it really sucks to discover how finite and irrelevant each of us really is.

He needs to realize that he is simply celebrating the 19th anniversary of his 21st birthday. Age is a lot easier to comprehend that way!

Oh, Neo, watch out for your eyes on your trip to the Machine City.

I thought this entire thread was quite humorous.

It never bothered me to turn 30, or 40, or 50..but this year I turn 60....YIKES...however, it does not bother me...I figure I have only two choices...grow older, or drop dead...I opt for growing older...

Keanu dealt with a couple big deaths in last five years, so no wonder he'd brood. Not to mention the serious illness of his sister, Kim. She has/had leukemia and the 2 are said to be very close. She wasn't doing too well last I read, during filming of last Matrix. He's spared no expense to help her and I hope she is doing better. His funk probably has more to do with reflecting on so much loss in his life than it actually does with the number. I've always really liked Keanu (loooove his voice), he is what he is and he is unpretentious about it, even if a little new-agey. He does seem like a decent guy.

m glad I MADE it to the 50. The older I get the more I'm savoring each day. I bought a motorcycle 4 months ago (after 30 years of not riding). IF I make to 60, I'm skydiving on my birthday (and I hate heights). Every day counts. Boy you just took my thunder; I have the same idea...when I turn 50 (2 Years from now), i want a Harley (i have not ridden a motorcycle for the past 15 years) to take Mrs. danmar on weekends for a joy ride.
Looking forward to age gracefully with my wife on my side into the sunset of our life and along the way.
Of course grandkids spoiling is a must!!!!!

My wife still is not enamored with the idea. I gave in to maxing out the life ins. and she got the best vehicle (my truck -gasp), but it was worth it. A good ride takes the days stress away. I may plan a long ride out to Yellowstone this summer, if I feel comfortable about it. I have a Kawasaki Concours, but Harley ain't a bad way to go either. I have no regrets.

I'll be 39 in July also. In some ways, it feels weird but on many other ways, I feel much the same when I was in high school. I still hang with my buddy from grade school who will be 40 this year, sometimes though, when we get together and hatch some plan, we still feel much the same as we were when we were kids. B-)
It does seem like the time flies fast. BTW, saw your profile page, I know what it is like to lose a pet, I lost one of my cats, Muffin, last year, she was a black (actually sable) Burmese cat. She was very special, all my 8 cats are, but what made her special is that she was my aunt's cat, a few days before she died of cancer, she asked us to take care of Muffin.

I've been told that life doesn't start until you're 40.
Maybe he should start adopting a whole bunch of babies and/or doing lots of charity work. My sister can use a poopy-diaper-changer. No experience necessary.
