Jessica in the bottom 3.

Stupid, right?

Makahala, Lindsey OK, but Jessica is a much better singer than Vonselle, Anthony, Nekko, Scott...WTF?

"I'll bet those little middle school girls in [Anwar's]school are just beside themselves!"

Ohmigosh, and he seems like such a nice guy! He must be the #1 popular teacher in that school. LOL, I was thinking this too, and I had a really nice, cute, music teacher in Jr. High too! He, however, was a classical pianist, which I'm kind of feeling he'd want me to mention right now, no American POP Idol he.

"As far as Scott goes,... I wonder if his creepy dad is going to show up?"

Can you fill me in on this guy's story, because as closely as I've watched this show I seem to have missed it. Others have alluded to it, but I've got NO clue. I don't want to pity the guy, you know, but I'm just curious and a wee bit confused.

I am still amazed that Constantine wasn't in the bottom 3. However I grudgingly have to admit he did better with his performance last night.

"A hideous group song with arm waving audience participation!"

You are well named ms. geiger, you've measured this with great accuracy!

I predict Lindsey, Vonzelle, or Scott as next to go.

This was my prediction from yesterday (post 29) Looks like I'm right on target so far!

"I wonder how these young kids can get up there and sing after being hit with this.

I don't think I could do it."

Yeah, they are amazing. Any of these 12, and maybe a few more levels back, could certainly have careers at this. "The show must go on".

"Top of the blokes for me...Anwar.
Top of the girls...Nadia (with Carrie Underwood a close second)"

Happy so good to see you here! Hubby definately agrees with you on Nadia. I am so conflicted, but I've liked Anwar from the start. According to hubby the bookies (touts to you that might be) have him as the fave.

And a happy St. Patrick's day to you, my namesake! We must always be proud to be Irish (-American in my sake!)

I tried all Tues eve, until late into the night, to get thru on Idol, and it kept ringing busy. So I thought, I'll try dialing all the numbers, and it kept ringing busy. I dialed early, late, 1:30 AM EST, 3:30 AM EST...nada, rien, I was flat outa luck.

Why couldn't I get through?

I'm not surprised to see Lindsay voted off. Her lower-register voice was a novelty, but not enough to carry her to the end of the competition.

"I'm not surprised to see Lindsay voted off."

Me neither, to me she was very boring, just had nothing noteworthy about her. She never registered with me.

I guess I'm the only Mikalah fan on this thread but I was glad to see her dodge the bullet. For a while at least.

And Happy St. Patrick's Day to you too, darlin'. :-)

I think your hubby is right. Nadia -while not the strongest vocally- has that X factor, that the rest of the girls just don't have.

She's like an old soul, in a young body. She's great. I want to hear her do some really hot motown.

Mikalah has a lot of pep and personality. She's perky and bouncy with a lot of talent. She deserves to be in the top 12.

That said, if I could have gotten thru (I didn't, phone rang busy continuously), I would've voted for Nikko Smith. He gave it his all.

"He gave it his all."

He did, he really did. And it was fitting he did, having been brought back from the dead, as it were.

And I LOVE the Jackson Five, so his was great song selection and great performance, imho.

I was sort of thinking he'd have better chosen "One bad apple" or something more easily sung by one person.

More excitement next week. Can't hardly wait!

He did and I'm not fan either. He's a pretty boy who actually had a good night last night...no way he'd go tonight. Jessica shouldn't have been in the bottom 3. I think Constantine may hang himself soon.

During Scott's audition it came up that his dad said he had no talent and was basically never going to amount to anything.

Simon was incredulous. He just sort of widened his eyes and asked him if his dad had ever heard him sing. Apparently he (dad)couldn't be bothered. (None of this is an exact quote, I'm thinking back to first auditions..)

Anyway, then Simon goes on and on telling him that he didn't look good enough. That his physical appearance would get him kicked out of any producer's office before he could open his mouth, etc.

Scott stood there and took all of this like a man. He was pretty impressive.

Simon softened up quite a bit and seemed to start cheering him on.

Simon seems to like the "underdog" in my opinion.

So that's basically it. I may have the order or the words mixed up a little. Someone else will probably remember better.

From the very beginning Scott has been very sweet and gentle.

During the first semifinal show, he was one of the most supportive of the others. Dancing along, clapping the loudest etc.

They all warmed up by the next night, but Scott just seemed to genuinely appreciate the others and wished them well.

That has been consistent.

So, with that sort of start in the auditions, to his ability to care for the others, to the drastic changes in his way of dressing and everything, he's been one of the most interesting ones for me to watch.

Anthony's story is nice also. In case you don't know, Anthony is Ukrainian born, leaving at the age of nine with his family.

At some point in his life he had that tracheotomy and was told he wouldn't even be able to talk again.

So every time he lets out some of those big notes, it's impressive to me.

(My 17 year old daughter has become impressed with him for a completely different reason. It looks like the boy spends as much time working out as he does practicing his songs.)

I can't decide who I want to win, when it comes right down to it, but Anwar, Scott, Anthony and Carrie are right at the top of my list.

I liked Mikalah in the beginning, in Hollywood. Found her cute..but as the weeks have gone on she has been a little on the annoying side. Plus she has a voice that she has to be very careful about her song selection with otherwise it sounds like screeching. She did very well a few weeks ago with the slow song but lately ... I think mostly she's too young.
