"I'll bet those little middle school girls in [Anwar's]school are just beside themselves!"

Ohmigosh, and he seems like such a nice guy! He must be the #1 popular teacher in that school. LOL, I was thinking this too, and I had a really nice, cute, music teacher in Jr. High too! He, however, was a classical pianist, which I'm kind of feeling he'd want me to mention right now, no American POP Idol he.

"As far as Scott goes,... I wonder if his creepy dad is going to show up?"

Can you fill me in on this guy's story, because as closely as I've watched this show I seem to have missed it. Others have alluded to it, but I've got NO clue. I don't want to pity the guy, you know, but I'm just curious and a wee bit confused.

During Scott's audition it came up that his dad said he had no talent and was basically never going to amount to anything.

Simon was incredulous. He just sort of widened his eyes and asked him if his dad had ever heard him sing. Apparently he (dad)couldn't be bothered. (None of this is an exact quote, I'm thinking back to first auditions..)

Anyway, then Simon goes on and on telling him that he didn't look good enough. That his physical appearance would get him kicked out of any producer's office before he could open his mouth, etc.

Scott stood there and took all of this like a man. He was pretty impressive.

Simon softened up quite a bit and seemed to start cheering him on.

Simon seems to like the "underdog" in my opinion.

So that's basically it. I may have the order or the words mixed up a little. Someone else will probably remember better.

From the very beginning Scott has been very sweet and gentle.

During the first semifinal show, he was one of the most supportive of the others. Dancing along, clapping the loudest etc.

They all warmed up by the next night, but Scott just seemed to genuinely appreciate the others and wished them well.

That has been consistent.

So, with that sort of start in the auditions, to his ability to care for the others, to the drastic changes in his way of dressing and everything, he's been one of the most interesting ones for me to watch.

Anthony's story is nice also. In case you don't know, Anthony is Ukrainian born, leaving at the age of nine with his family.

At some point in his life he had that tracheotomy and was told he wouldn't even be able to talk again.

So every time he lets out some of those big notes, it's impressive to me.

(My 17 year old daughter has become impressed with him for a completely different reason. It looks like the boy spends as much time working out as he does practicing his songs.)

I can't decide who I want to win, when it comes right down to it, but Anwar, Scott, Anthony and Carrie are right at the top of my list.
