Listening to Sam Cooke when he sang for the Soul Stirrers. A capella, four-part harmony, and absolutely beautiful.

Just the high-stepping hand-waving part. The only people who get solos in the churches I go to tend to be the sopranos (cuz they're pushy and haven't learned like the rest of the choir that to make good music, you blend with everyone else)

We have to have accompaniment to hide the fact that nobody can sing along right...

ROTFL!! That would send my very New England Parish into apoplexy! We had a black songwriter here a few years ago for our Lenten revival, and it was hilarious just watching these folks try to keep time to the music. I needled my friends, telling them they clapped like white people! ;o)
