Never sung "O Sacred Head"? I thought it was a standard Good Friday hymn. Same with "Stricken, Smitten and Afflicted". At least standard in all the Protestant churches I've been to...

"How Deep the Father's Love" is either an old hymn gaining new popularity, or a new song that sounds like an old hymn -I have heard six different stories about it.

"Surely, He has borne our greives" has the words stricken, smitten, and afflicted.

I love that hymn. Another favorite, that doesn't seem like it would be suitable for Christmas, but it is, is "Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence". Seems like a dirge, but the words are perfect for Christmas. I love the Gustav Holst arrangement for SATB.
