The Hobbit Hole XX - And take the hidden paths that run...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 03/05/2005 11:51:13 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And take the hidden paths that run...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

You know who he is? Wow!

Seriesly though, he's great on Boston Legal. And he looks pretty good for 74.

Come on, I've said this before. The only things we watched growing up were musicals, Disney movies, and Star Trek.

I thought he was superb in "Miss Congeniality". Not everyone can play a parody of himself with such grace.

I know, I was just reminding you that my cultural literacy, while being an inch wide, is a mile deep. I've seen every episode of the Original Series, even the Spock's Brain episode. I'm just happy to get a reference for once!

Well, they're gone again, with my folks, for three hours. I feel like just going back to bed.

I'm going to the grocery store.

I think ecurbh was my first real student ;~D She already knows horses, she just thinks my animals are peculiar because Gidget watches TV and Bay won't pee in his stall.

I got my nieces the Beetles. Two exactly alike. They are yellow (like mine) and they have lady bugs all over them. They say "Funny Beetle" on the top.

They are made in China...and some of the others had really weird things on them, you know, like spiders...and random letters put together that kinda looked like they might want to spell out something but never did....I don't know if China doesn't quite get the USA or I just don't quite get China!

That's a sign from heaven that you need Cragar wheels on your bug. And that means you need a performance kit for the engine, too.

Oh yeah? Are they good wheels? What's a performance kit?

Did you see the blog? Updated it yesterday.
