Actually, I have that. It just gets tricksey when all five of us are downstairs. And none of us wants the same channel. ;-)
It becomes less of a problem as the weather gets warmer. I'll be outside more.
I don't really watch that much TV. (Except for the Netflix DVDs). I just like having it on while I'm working. But I've sort of solved that too. I bought some headphones for the PC. I'll use 'em if I have to.
Me too. I've had spring fever since 1973...
Lawrence Welk I could handle.
And seriesly, it wouldn't be half that bad if she could hear the TV at a normal level. We think the shingles did some hearing damage. This morning I could hear the TV in her room ~over~ the TV downstairs.
But, one thing at a time. We'll get the hip surgery done (the 29th), then we'll work on hearing.
What do you think about me?
LOL!
We think you're pretty cool, for bein' a grumpy old geezer.
Just kidding!
Whew, completely emptied the small bookcase. It's light, I could manage it myself if it weren't bulky.
So when do you complete your part of the move?
I want my stuff all out tonight. Got some guys from school coming tomorrow to help me with the immovable objects (couch, large bookshelf, desk, tv).
I can totally relate to what you're saying, Corin.
The living arrangements I have with my mom are supposed to be mutually beneficial: I pay all of the bills and she doesn't have to work and watches the kids (and gets to keep her house).
Unfortunately, somewhere along the way she decided that she is martyring herself for my sake. I guess being able to stay home and watch the kids from 8:30 to 6:00 is a heavy burden and she is always sure to let me know just how bad she has it.
*sigh* I love her to death, but it's so frustrating not being able to have a say in anything house-related because she is the "owner", even though I pay the mortage, association fees, utilities, cell phone bills (hers and mine), auto insurance (hers and mine),etc etc all on my sole income (which ain't that hot).
If I move out, she has to lose the house and get a full time job and I have to stick Alyson in day care and Becky in after-school.
If I stay, my kids are tended to but I have to hear how miserable her life is and her famous "At six o'clock I'm off the clock" speech everytime I have to work late.
Not to mention, when I finally do get home all help stops. I have to feed, bathe, do homework and so on and so forth while she goes to her room to "recover" from her long day. And forget about EVER asking her to babysit so I can go out and do something fun. She has to deal with the kids all week and wants nothing to do with them on the evenings or weekends at all.

Heh...one of our pastors told us he'd pray that we'd either be "relieved or released."
;-)
Got wireless set up. I'm thinking the remaining things to move today might take less than two hours. Then of course I have to finish cleaning the old place.
heheheh....
I'll be hoping for "relief". ;-D
Oh, Rosie:
The apartment people said the cat deposit can wait until the kitties are actually here. But they only take checks so if you're closing your checking account, you should go ahead and send me a check to give them. If you want to do that I'll freepmail you more details.
Is this the Canada weekend?
Heh...Nana moved in with us in November 2003...right?
Wife's brother is coming up to visit tomorrow. For the first time since Nana moved.
It's a three hour trip.
Sometimes the evidence just speaks for itself, doesn't it? ;-D
That's just WRONG!
He'd make a better Yenta.
Convince Nana she's going to stay with him for a month or two, and then let her given him a guilt trip about it.
Sheesh. That's just ridiculous.
I'm planning to keep my account open for a bit...don't want to carry everything around in cash, for sure! I'll likely use some to open the account out there, and then close this one in a few months. In other words...I can wait on the deposit.
Yeah, this is the Canada weekend, if all goes well. Stephen's supposed to talk to the people who we're goin' with and figure out when we're meeting up. It's likely to be VEY early. Oh joy!
Ok. When I moved I got the money as a cashier's check and just kept it safe. Having you pay them directly works just fine for me!
Sheesh, my friend was supposed to be here half an hour ago...
