Argh! That thingy jigger on the roof (that spins, you know?) is squealing again. Drives me bananas. Steve put some WD40 on it last weekend and lasted till last night.
We're not really playing for tips - it's not a performance, it's just playin' for fun. People have given tips the last few times, though we didn't ask for 'em. And considering we each got six dollars out of things this time...we actually got quite a bit. There were quite a few of us. Plus they didn't let us pay for the food we shared and our drinks!
Busking is something that varies from place to place. There are actually places where you have to have a permit (!!) to perform in public, which I think is a bit silly, though it does tend to mean buskers are actually talented...I've been places where there are people who obviously have problems and are just banging away at a note or two - not actually making music.
Ahhh...I see. And the food and drink is worth a LOT! How was the fish and chips? Oh, I wish I coulda been there.
I don't think I'm quit ready to busk. LOL Not by a long shot. But I do think it looks fun.
I'm gonna look into Fort Collin's rules and see if you have to have a permit. Then if I ever come visit, I'll make you busk and I'll be your bait audience. I'll applaud loudly and throw wads of cash at you. (You'll have to lend me the cash.)
;-D
(I woke up silly this morning it seems.)
Fish and chips were good, except that I like 'em with malt vinegar, and I didn't have any. I bet they have some, but it was so crazy and busy, I didn't want to bother them by asking for it. It came with asparagus, too! I LOVE the stuff...
Heh...if I busk in Fort Collins, you're buskin', too. ;-) At least on a few tunes!
For whatever reason, we have trouble keeping fish alive very long in our saltwater tank. But these fairy basslets we are very successful with, able to keep for a year or more without much trouble, there are 2 in the tank now that I think have been there 2 years, lucky they are pretty. Also, starfish and banded coral shrimp do well for us.
LOL!!! You got a deal! I would love it. I'm awful, but still. You could introduce me as someone you're mentoring or something and then nobody will expect much from me.
I'd wear my chucks!
It might happen! You never know! LOL
Oh! And the other thing was that two of the people who performed with us yesterday at the noontime concert showed up and sang a few things with us! That was a hoot! We were just happy bein' musicians together, so all of us were singing at the top of our lungs, even those of us who aren't necessarily "singers". Just having a blast!
Stranger things have happened...like homebody hobbits suddenly out of the blue deciding to pick up and travel for days and days to a strange far-off country! ;-)
How neat!!
Oh I know I woulda loved it. I mean, I had such a good time just hanging out in a beer joint listening to that session with OT. This woulda be heaven, I'm sure!
That session with OT was the last time I've heard any live Irish music. :-(
Unitl tonight!!
LOL!! And we are planning that cross-country trip in My Precious after we get it fixed. So who knows?? :-)
Hey, have seen that commercial, I thought it was an auto commercial but it turns out it's a Radio Shack commercial, has this one family entertaining themselves in their SUV with various handheld items like DVD players and such and then this other family yodeling in an old VW splitscreen bus?
I just loved it...could see us driving up to Hair's place or yours or g'nads, just a-yodeling! LOL
Man, I woke up silly and in a great mood this morning.
Heh...I haven't seen that commercial - don't have TV. But I like it!
We did a lot of singing along to stuff on the way to Maine last summer. No yodeling, though...
Also listened to Jack Benny shows for hours at a time. ;-) That was fun!
I'm using the IE Pop-up blocker and I've got the Service 2 pack. Mozilla really slowed things down for me.
I'm not sure about Spy-bot, I haven't updated it. But with Ad-aware I will periodically remove it and re-download it. First time I did that I went from finding 20 problems to finding over 1,000 the first time I re-ran it.
Thanks. I'll try that tonite.
You might try updating Spy-bot and running it again. There's an update feature...should be fairly obvious, if you aren't running an old version.
I'd be verrrry careful if you go about using Hi-Jack This. It's a great tool, but also one that can really do damage if you aren't careful what you remove.
Don't she know the Sunday School song "I'm in the Lord's Army?"
'course then he's likely tuh kilt me 'cause I didn't suggest "I'm in the Lord's Marines."
But I don't write the songs. I just report on 'em.
What a gorgeous fish!
Sounds like a great St. Patty's Day gathering!!
