Hey, if'n they can't be eaten, they may as well be pets. ;)
hezuh small-town Christian boy from the Ozarks... he knows purty country when he sees it...
Well, he's not too far from our beach house, if'n you want us to show him around :~D
Nope, just gills.
But they're specialized gills that allow them to pull oxygen from the humidity in the air rather than from water like fish gills.
No, Suzi, the baking soda and the egg white are analogous to the beer. It comes out very crispy. I like beer batters too, though, very much.
However, when Jeanne and I were first married, I remember buying these very large shrimp and boiling 'em in beer - now that was great! 'Course, that was before I figured out that I'm allergic to crustaceans. Shrimp ain't kosher anyway ;-)
Land crab snaigs are nice. ~smile~
They can drown if you have the humidity too high, believe it or not.
jest act like yuh don't know me...
actually, I was hopin' you all might hook up with him when he gets there... nothing like havin' a friendly face that knows yer name when your in a strange place...
jest keep Ramius away from him...
Bangor, huh? Well heck... that's just up the road a piece. Lemme know if he needs shootin' lessons or a free lunch or sumpthin. :-)
What's MSG school?
How big are they? Hard to tell from the pic.
Monosodium Glutamate?
Marine Security Guard...
shootin' lessons he can use...
other than that, do yer best not tuh corrupt him... his mama would never fergive me...
Hmmm..... Seaquest must have used this when creating the character Piccolo.
har har har...
When I was a teenager, I developed a convenient allergy to raw shrimp. We used to help Daddy de-head them when he came in from shrimping. After I couldn't do them anymore, I cleaned the crabs. He caught them in the trawl with the shrimp, separated them at the sorting board, and put them in the cooler for the trip back. These were the tasty blue crabs. I even had to help Mama pick the meat out of them. It was a vey tedious job, but we sure liked that fresh crabmeat.
Sorry Ruthie!
Will he do us the honor of carrying one of our Hobbit Hole knives?
heh. Oh, and like *you've* been a good influence I suppose. :-P
Yeesh... corrupting the young ain't what it used to be. :-)
Cool... glad he passed his test. And Washington sounds like a pretty cushy posting, for the Marines...
bottom feeders.
Well they vary from dime-sized to softball-sized.
My "little" crab has a beer bottle cap sized shell and the "big daddy" has a gold ball sized shell.
I'll get pics up (with stuff next to them for scale) soon.
already got an HH original CRKT...
