Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And take the hidden paths that run...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

The big knife especially looks nice! The Camillus CQB1 is a fantastic knife, and we get it at a great price. Exotic 154CM steel, and my hand-filing work, not seen in the photo. Plus a vey adaptable hard sheath. If the Extrema Ratio knife is called the "Ferrari of the battlefield", this Camillus is the Corvette Z06.

Where did I read a story about some kids who lived someplace so cold they had to have so many blankets that they had to wake up to turn over....hmmm
Meanwhile the Scourge of Winter (it almst qualifies s a Plague at this point) continues. They're calling it "Lake Effect" Snow. I call it Nanook's Revenge and imagine we are receiving the fruits of some ancient and terrible curse

It's been blowing here for the last couple of days but at least it's not too cold. 60's on Saturday and 50's, Sunday.

Eh... I'm burning a disk of '24' episodes... watching 'Numbers'... and trying to decide what to eat.

Oh great guru...
Okay, enough with the shameless toadying :)
Where, o where does my WinXP 'puter stick downloaded codecs for unfamiliar media files? One of them got corrupted and now one of my favorite clips won't play (except for audio). The message says "error downloading codec". I imagine if I can eliminate the codec(s) and let the 'puter download them again it might be OK.
That or I've just lost the clip.

Well, let's see... what type of file are you trying to play? And what player are you using?

It says it's a "video clip"; the other "video clip" in the same category works fine; and Windows Media Player plays (or attempts to play) both.
