The Hobbit Hole XX - And take the hidden paths that run...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 03/05/2005 11:51:13 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And take the hidden paths that run...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Heh... my Mom used to call that show "Murder, She Wrought"... since whenever Jessica Fletcher showed up, somebody died. ;)

Here's what the new Hobbit Hole logo looks like on blades. First, on the Ka-Bar and the large Camillus folder. It isn't too visible on the Camillus due to the angle of the blade. Both have been enlarged to a reasonable size now.

Next, a new knife to satisfy a need that just arose. A Camillus seatbelt cutter for medics and combat lifesavers. The logo was put on the back of the blade, where it is visible even with the blade closed.

Finally, our first Camillus CQB1, for Jerry. You remember him, the retired Ranger captain who's now a civilian contractor. Treasures the Camillus he carried in Vietnam, and almost kept one of the Camillus "Black Ops", but instead gave it to special ops troops out in the boonies. For him, our special "can't-give-it-away" tribute.

I think Sun. afternoon is supposed to be nice. Maybe they can come with the truck then to get the stuff going out to the house.

OK...I thought that MIGHT be what you meant, but you said ONTO the LR...so I was confoosed. ;-)

I guess I'm gonna ride along to the jam tonight. Jim's driving. I don't know for sure if I want to, but I guess it's better than sitting here imagining worst case scenarios.

Possibly...if they can get permission again. Still doesn't help with the dump stuff...but I suppose if need be I can make lots of trips with the van. Not as convenient, but ah well.

It's gonna be colder out at the house, too. I guess I'll hafta toughen up.

Putting a blanket folded double under the fitted sheet helps with the cold air mattress.

That's a good idea. I have a single blanket...but it's not doin' the trick.
