Puppy survives cliff plunge drama
A Jack Russell puppy survived a 21 metre plunge into the sea and a 1.6km swim to shore in one of the busiest stretches of sea in England.
Six month old Toby landed in the water unhurt, but was then forced to doggy paddle across the Plymouth Sound as he was swept 1.6km away by a strong tide.
His owners alerted police and a boat crew quickly found Toby stranded - but miraculously unharmed - on some rocks.
The soggy doggy was then wrapped in a blanket and returned to the shore.
Trembling Toby was reunited with his delighted owners who had feared the worst after the pup leapt over a wall - and off the cliff - after being frightened by the sound of gunshot from a nearby army barracks.
"We honestly thought we'd lost him," Mr Lee said. "It's a true miracle he's still with us."
He was then taken to a vet for a check up.
JRT's were originally bred for fox hunting - their job was to go down the foxhole and annoy the fox until it bolted. Janey, at least, gets on well with horses.
You got the one!
How about half Jack and half Beagle. Now that would be a riot.
