*New* The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads…. And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Previous threads:

The FreeRepublic Saddle Club thread - Thread TWO!
The FreeRepublic Saddle Club thread - Thread THREE!

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!

Your pics sure are good, Sharn.

Got any more new critters lately? I've been looking at petfinder.com for I-don't-know-what, just something. I'll know it when I see it, I guess.

"is the name at the top of the fight john holland?"

LOL

Cindy, are there really people fighting for the lives of caterpillers? I did see some peta types picketing a fishing tournament once.

Hooray I'm glad that you got rid of it. The same thing happened to me back in December, and it was quite a mess and difficult to clean up. It was a program that dowloaded itself, and then started calling viruses to my machine. My virus program wouldn't get rid of it, so it had to be deleted manually. Luckily it was stupid and installed itself in my temp folder. It had called 15 or 16 viruses in the minute or two that it took me to figure out that something was very very wrong. What did your hubby install to get rid of it?

Microsoft Antispyware (beta 1)

I sure wish there was a way to catch the people who do that stuff. Do you know where you got the program that was calling viruses to your machine? I try to be very careful of opening things that people send me and clicking on links. Guess I wasn't careful enough, though.

I was surfing looking up chemistry stuff. I'm minding my own business, not doing anything I'm not supposed to, and *boom* I get hit. I wish that they could catch the idiots that do things like this. It's malicious destruction of private property sometimes. Certainly vandalism.

(It's just not fair) ;-)

Hey, if I gave you a receipe that is measured for like one serving, and wanted it converted to say where it would make a pint, could you do that and would it take a long time. I don't want to bother you:)

It's not turned on.

Chemistry, huh? My daughter is having trouble with a science question and I've been unable to find the answer.

"Along what lines on a magnetic map are the lines of force of the earth's magnetic field horizontal in relation to the earth's surface?"

I don't even understand the question.

It's not turned on.

It should be.
Only reason to turn it off, is "maybe" when you want to play multiplayer games online. Even then, it's scary.

I don't know why my husband doesn't turn it on. I don't play any games online. He does have a firewall on his computer. Maybe he's spying on me...

"Along what lines on a magnetic map are the lines of force of the earth's magnetic field horizontal in relation to the earth's surface?"

Longitude lines..

Longitude lines are the gridlines running from pole to pole, latitude lines run ~laterally~ around the girth of the earth.

Is there really such a thing as tent caterpillers? I thought Keith was just pulling my leg.

There is such a thing as tent caterpillars... But that doesn't mean Keith ~wasn't~ pulling your leg about everything else.... ;~D

They're called that because they build big tents in trees.

Test not over.

What do we call the belts formed by high-speed particles trapped within the earth's magnetic field?
