The Hobbit Hole XIX - Tomorrow we may come this way...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 01/27/2005 9:59:05 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Tomorrow we may come this way...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

He's good. He's a really easy going personality, but he likes to play and he and Gidget play well together.

He climbs up on the bed at night though, after we're asleep because we don't let him. It's funny how small and compact and stealthy he can be. Then he lays down and like a wedge, slowly starts pushing us off the bed. ;~\

She goes ~ape~ at anyone that's really hyper and loud and bounces around too much on TV. Same reason she likes the crocodile hunter :~D

I'm back! Went to the thrift store, got a microwave bacon cooker that should FIT in my little microwave...it's MicroWare, by Anchor Hocking...they don't make it any more. Also got a partitioned plate of the same stuff with a lid that Steve can take meals to work in...paid a buck fifty for both of them. No measuring spoons or pancake turners though.

Hey Ramius, I got Matthew a book called "Helicopter Rescues"...

Then I went to Walmart and got my low sat. fat cheese alternative...aka Shredded Crap in a Sack. Heh heh...it's actually not bad and it's cheaper than real cheddar.

19 cents per ounce for the real cheddar...

12 cents per ounce for the alternative cheddar...

For 7 cents more, I'd go for the real cheese...

I bought the real stuff for Steve. It's the saturated fat in real cheddar that keeps me from it.

It's really not bad and I figure if I eat the substitutes I don't mind, I can eat the things I really like better than the substitutes. Butter, for example. I can't stand margarine...so I just go ahead and eat the butter. Same with mayo. But this stuff, I don't mind.

Every time I eat something low in saturated fat, I remind myself I'm doing it for my buttered popcorn!

Went by the library too...Matthew is hooked on this book series called "Star Wars Jedi Apprentice". There's like 13 of them. They look like your typical campy kids books.

But he sits like a stump reading them!

I know jack doodle about anime, except what y'all have talked about. It hasnae made me want to go to a cosplay or learn enough kanji to read the original manga, but that's three words I can sorta comprehend now that I wouldn't have known about without you. My horizons are broadened, and my life enriched.

Thank you.

And beware lest ye get on a subject I like a lot and know a lot about :)

Well, I think "Rangers" was already taken. You know, around here, everyone wants to be a Texas Ranger (even though they can't/have yet to win the pennant).

Well, I'm tolerating my morning reduced caffiene coffee pretty well...I'm down to two-thirds caffeine, one-third decaf in the mix.

Afternoons are killing me though because I don't allow myself any more after my two cups in the morning. I can drink decaf, but that's all.

I feel really sluggish. It hits me about 3:30-4:30pm every afternoon...
