The Hobbit Hole XIX - Tomorrow we may come this way...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 01/27/2005 9:59:05 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Tomorrow we may come this way...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

True... in fact, in the story the local news did about the tryouts, they mentioned "non-traditional" families were encouraged to try out.

S'far as I'm concerned, these teeny little two/three kid families are "non-traditional".

We always say my dad and his friend should try to get on, but they can't agree which of them should play gay and which should have survived cancer.

Good night!

I ought to hit the hay early, too, since I'm sick.

I always thought "The Cat and the Hat" a very subversive little story.

Good morning!

Man...do I EVER need caffeine this morning! Dunno why...I went to bed earlyish. But I DID have odd dreams. Like trying to figure out how I was going to smuggle Tam with me as all the people on Earth (or as many as possible) were being deported 'cause the planet was about to explode.

Oh please. After three entire thread of not much beyong long discussions of the stuff, no one could get a long conversation about anything else in edgewise.

Surely you've noticed the number of posters became a trickle some time ago.

Referring to anime / such like.

No, I hadn't noticed anyone leaving except maybe you, PE. But maybe I'm too self-centered to notice. If this is true, please tell me. I don't think any of us intentionally go out of our way to annoy or exclude people, and if this was really THAT big of a deal, I feel bad for not noticing.

And maybe I should just let this die. I just honestly never thought reoccuring subjects were that offensive.

Never mind. Forget I posted that. I just don't like being accused of things I didn't mean to do, and I'm in an ornery mood anyway.

No - it was good for you to post it....

I don't read any anime posts, and there was a period where it was pretty much the only conversation, but I didn't have anything better to bring up sometimes, people get busy, and I came back when I had something to talk about. I think our friendship can survive a couple conversations that are boring for the rest of us. If it can't, then maybe those people left.
