Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Tomorrow we may come this way...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Hah, cooking is something I enjoy! It's hard for me to indulge too much these days, just not enough hours in my days.

"The Incredibles" just won for sound editing.

Not too much, although Chris Rock redeemed himself for a bit of the monologue by saying:
"Oprah is so rich, I saw John Kerry proposing to her about half an hour ago..."

I also liked his comment about the taking of the Oscar out into the audience to present it.
"Next year, we are going to give the Oscars out in the parking lot. Just have a drive-through Oscar pick-up lane."
Hair likened it to Donahue running around with his microphone... "Here's your Oscar, wanna say a few words?"

Well, they
were pretty boring this year. Did you hear that guy who won and said "I'm lucky there wasn't a forth Lord of the Rings?"
All in all a dull evening. Well 'cept for the part where Hillary Swank almost had butt cleavage...did you see the back (or lack thereof) on that dress?

If I had her backside and a place to go, I'd have worn that dress.
I thought Chris Rock was grating. His voice is too squeeky and he did not even pretend to be at a dress up party.
I thought Jamie Foxx, who I've never seen before, is a class act and I really enjoyed his speech.

Yeah, that was a classic speech by Foxx.
I see 'em over on the live thread complaining about "Million Dollar Baby." If it wasn't that, it would be something else.

Yeah, but think how mad we'd have been if we'd been robbed last year. Now, of course, I just don't care, but I can't blame them because they do...
But griping doesn't do much good. Let's hope there are better movies this year.

I came across a logo-design program, and started playing with it. My goal is to come up with something a bit classy, and scalable, to use in engraving. It might also come in handy as a letterhead.
I have absolutely no artistic skill, even with computer assistance. But this is an example of what the program can do with a few minute's work, and a set of tengwar (elvish) fonts. That's "hobbit hole" in an elvish TTF font.
