The Hobbit Hole XIX - Tomorrow we may come this way...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Tomorrow we may come this way...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Roast? On the stove? How is this done? Does it come out moist? (My mom's way-- in the oven-- always results in dry meat.)

Good!

Shrek 2 was amusing. "Incredibles" was a really good movie. And there weren't any jokes that I'd have been afraid to laugh at if my little brothers were sitting next to me (sigh, I really miss going to the movies with the bothers).

:)

Just remember that next time you're shopping for a cheap DVD player.

Pot roast - you sear it in oil, then let it cook in beef broth for a couple hours.

But if you really want a moist roast, put it in the crockpot with lots of water, veggies and herbs for eight hours. You won't need a knife, just a fork.

I'll just make sure I buy the cheap gun first thing when I go in... then DVD player browsing.

Hmmmm.....you wouldn't normally expect that from a toaster. Toasters are more into electrocution.

This is why I get my caffeine out of cans. It's sealed tight, no funny ideas get in.

It's easy!

Also, if you're roasting beef in the oven; salt and pepper the roast, cook it at 325, and cook it to five degrees below the reccommended temperature. Then take it out of the oven and let it sit for five minutes, it'll finish cooking. That tends to make a moister oven roast.
