Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Tomorrow we may come this way...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Prepaid wireless is my only phone...costs less than $8 a month to keep it active for the whole year.

Well, I got on raised bed started. Doh! Left my garden rake at the house. Oh well. Found some white paint that matches that in the dining room so I'll have the whole sliding glass door/ dining room wall project finished this weekend...except for getting curtains for the sgd.

That's what I've got, and Rosie and I talked about it - I think she was thinking of waiting, so as to get a local area code?

I dunno... I bought mine long before I'd decided where I was moving, so I'm clueless.

I can't remember if I gave them a land line number, area code, or zip code when I activated mine. I'm sure I didn't give an address.

Yep! Its been a real bear getting things configured, but so far so good. Im a little nervous about the security, as I have heard that DSL has some serious problems with that, but hubby says if we set up a network for the home, the filters will be very good...whatever that means.
Im clueless when it comes to actual computer hardware/software. I just like to turn on the thing and use it.

I have a cable setup myself - since I don't have a phone line, it's about the same price as DSL, and twice as fast. But it's always good to have yourself isolated from the connection by a piece of hardware like a router, which it sounds like you've got.

Don't think.
Don't try to think.
Feel.

Lemme know what schedule you end up with. If you're within 50 miles of the Michigan state line during a mealtime (preferably on a weekend, but I could swing a weekday), I'd be pleased to help your food budget.
To: RosieCotton
Nope, no cell phones. I dunno how we'll work that. I suppose I could get one before I leave, but then I'm not sure how that'd work with the bills and all...so it probably isn't worth it. You guys absolutely have to have a cell phone. It's a safety issue, not a convenience... and a few contacts from the HH along the way in case you have trouble! Even if you are far from one of us, we can help find you a tow, or something, looking it up on the internet.

Turn off my brain? I can't do that, Dave...
Hey, isn't your tagline a violation of the "no profanity" rule?

Perhaps-- just for a moment-- you did.

On this primitive backwater of a planet? Puh-leez.
Now if I'd said "swutting turlingdrome"...and I get away with that 'cuz I'm quoting informatively. Socially redeeming content, and all that, what?

My cousin uses
this...we took it to Canada last year...worked great.

Evening OT - kudos for the planting bed, spring will be here before we know it. You may have to break down and get a rake, or the Foxfire series shows you how to make them from wood, hickory and blacklocus.
btw, yup it is the flu, strain A. Heavy duty meds time. but in interim rest, fluids, easy does it.
To: osagebowman
Yep. Have to buy a rake. I'm trying to decide where to plant the rhubarb.
Sorry to hear you have the flu. Get some chicken soup. :)
