If it's truly perfect, you'll get it. If you don't get it, it wasn't perfect ;-)
Thanks, Suzi! You're a peach!
Headin' out to the jam...and this week I may be tellin' folks THERE that I'm leaving.
Seems like things keep moving faster and faster all the time!
Evenin' everyone!
I'm actually going ~out~ this evening. Taking Becky and my nephew to the bowling alley to play in the arcade for a while.
My, what a WAY different definition of "out" than it was in my life 10 years ago!
I've got a gas stove now. The only thing about it is that I can't use it for dried tomatoes. I used to leave my oven on at around 200 overnight to dry them. And there was the time I put a turkey breast in the oven after dinner so I'd have some turkey meat for lunch the next day. I was afraid I'd fall asleep for the night before the 3 hours was up.
I lay before you the case of LCPL G. M.*, currently serving in Iraq.
My employer has a fuel services contract with a gas station up the street; I find it necessary to tank up there nearly every day, and have become well acquainted with the lady cashier who works that shift most days. She told me some time ago that her son was joining the Marines, and that she was afraid Bush would send him to Iraq to die (her words). The times being what they are, he has been sent to Iraq, from where he reports to her that what he is doing is important and that he doesn't want to come back before it's time.
I have revealed to this lady the existence of a group of likeminded individuals, located across the country, consisting in significant part of veterans (including Marines) and filled with troop supporters and sympathizers. I have suggested that we might do something for him, if we knew what sort of thing we might do.
The lady reports that her son would really like some desert camo mechanic's coveralls. When they have alerts in the night, they need to suit up, battle rattle, boots, and all, and hit the perimeter posthaste. He finds that his friends who have coveralls find it easier to leg-leg-arm-arm-zip, slip on the boots, grab the gear and the brain bucket and the bullet-launcher and exeunt omnes while he's still getting on the fattigyoos and fussin' with the buttons.
With y'all's approval I wish to contact the Marine at his e-mail, gather data on precisely what he's looking for, and see if we can find it in CONUS and send it...along with a phone card or some paperbacks or socks...and a knife.
I await comment.

Iowahawk: Fear and Loathing in the Mystery Machine (Gonzo Meets Scooby Doo)
classic... jest classic...
That was funny.
WTF is he thinkin' sleepin' undressed in a combat zone?... his Sgt and his Platoon Commander need a boot to the head...
that said, I'm sure we can come up with somethin'...
Well, we got the septic sucked out...it needed it, but it doesn't look like the system is failing.
However, after the guy left, the toilet still wouldn't flush well and the shower and other drains still gurgled...so we ran a snake up the pipe from the septic to the house then ran it down the toilet. I mean we worked hard at it...kept at and kept at it.
Tah DAHHHH! Long story short....we got the clog! Everything is flowing smoothly...more smoothly than it ever has since we moved here!
The guy was nice and helpful...but I didn't get any pictures. I was afraid I might embarrass the fellow.
I did make him laugh...my goal in life, you know...
I told him "I'll be right back...gotta take this bread to my neighbor." (raisin cinnamon) He said "Oh I thought I smelled something good and I didn't think it was that!" He indicated the septic. I laughed and said "Well, we're sweet people, but not THAT sweet!" He just roared.
:-)
LOL! Great line, 2J!
heh heh... yer jest too much 2J...
mrsnad thegirl and thenewboy are at the Lipizanner show... me and theboy jest started ROTK... see yuh...

We're watching Spiderman 2...again!
Well.... that's good that you got the clog... I won't ask what it was the clog was made of. ;~D
We got root growth into our lines at the beach house that slowed down the drain.
You both have a good night!
I'll be heading out shortly myself.
Actually, even though we went down through the toilet...I believe it was mainly hair. Remember when I lost all my hair? The snake end revealed just big wads of long brown hair.
I strain the shower now when I wash it...but for a while, I didn't.
Last bottle of world's oldest single malt whisky leaves Scotland
Sounds like a proper fourteen-twenty.
Any of you NW FReepers ever heard of grilling salmon on a cedar plank?
That's funny... I was just reading that story.
Evenin' all... [sip] <--- not $19,000 scotch.
Absolutely. Not the way we normally do it, though...
