Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Tomorrow we may come this way...
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

That's great that you were able to get into a two bedroom apartment so easily!

The next step is that I get my stuff moved downstairs, sometime in March. I can do most of it myself, but the couch and bookshelves and such will need strong male help.

There are so many steps that are kinda blurred together! ;-)
My next step is to find a home for my oldest kitty, since I can only bring two...and I don't think she'd make the trip well. Her name just went out on a Siamese list this evening - it goes to rescue folks / people interested in adopting. Across country. So...be praying that works out!
And after that, closing on the house on March 15th. And relocating a few weeks after.
And somewhere along the line finding a job...
I'm somewhere between so excited I feel like dancin' and rather frightened. This is unprecedented!

I
love cake, but the Bear does not ... I don't get that. As a little girl, I loved cake batter, and frosting, and the cake itself, frosted or not.
Mmmmm .... cake!

Yeah, they're really close to one another, so I'm glad they won't be separated.
It'll keep Tam from driving us insane, too. I hadn't really considered that angle until yesterday when I was reminiscing with Stephen about when Mom got Halvah. Before that...he'd sleep all day while I was gone and play all night. He's older now, but it's still likely for the best. ;-)

Except in my case, it's bothers and Stephen's sixteen year old friend. I'm still grateful, though.

Oh, yes, not a trivial thing at all! And better yet, it's my same building, which makes moving sooo easy. It's a renter's market in Fort Collins, and I've been such a good tenant. (Which they said when I asked them to let me move!) They like people like me...

I'll give Clare the message. There's a total of nine of them, including Clare and Joseph. They just had their pizza, and they're watching
Red vs Blue, a send up of the characters from Halo. It must be funny cause every now and then, howls of laughter rise up from the basement.
So now you gotta think about coming down here for a weekend, or even just an overnight on a Saturday. As I said, I'd be happy for Mug, Stephen and Bilbo to come. Jim too, if he'd like. and bring their instruments! SSQ loves music, and would love to hear them.

I'm doing much better now than I was over the weekend, though.

Tell 'em in your cover letter that you're moving to the area by mid-April.
And, remember, jobs can be had!

Mmmmm .... cake!Wish I could do that Star Trek thing and teleport some to you. It's Red Velvet Cake with White Buttercream frosting. SSQ doesn't like cake either, but he'll sit and eat that frosting for dessert!

And, remember, jobs can be had!I sure hope so! I just don't like the process of applying for 'em. Especially since my resume is based entirely on experience...don't have degrees and such to wave around. So far, that hasn't been at ALL an issue, but I dunno what it's like elsewhere. Depends, I suppose.

They sleep through the night, though. From about eight to about an hour after whenever I get up. Lazy bums, they are.

We're arguing about it. The apartment's getting a little remodelling (new stove! Huzzah!). I'm hoping to do it over Spring Break, mid-March. I have to work, and so do my brawny male coworkers, so they'll be in town that week... mwahahaha...
Get this, the new apartment is only $30 a month more than my old one! And they're giving me 100 off the first month's rent (if I were a new client it would be half-off).

Good. I always used to de-cat my room before bed, at home, just because as entertaining as they are during the day, at night - um, no.

Venting at my fellow technical-support-type warriors...
So the department has hired a pair of part time desk bimbos. Clueless, clueless girls. Dress like sluts, and they're our public face? Never mind. Well, the stupider and less friendly of the two (I had to restrain from slapping her several times as she referred to her computer as "retarded") can't do anything. I've been down to her four times in three days for non-issues or moron issues. So she says today (imagine the Valley Girl voice) "I really hate Windows. Can't I get something else?"
I spent ten minutes persuading her that Linux is not the right choice for her. Now, maybe I should have let her switch - Linux systems are not my job, and I wouldn't mind never dealing with her again. But can you imagine someone for whom Windows is too complicated, trying to use a Linux system? This girl doesn't know what right-clicking does!
