How about letting U-Haul put a tow hitch on it and load up one of their little trailers?
Even one of the not-so-little, if the van could handle it.

I was almost certain I only hit the post button once.
My van is pretty small...but more than that, I'm absolutely terrified of this drive as-is. There's no WAY I'd attempt it with a trailer. Just couldn't do it. No way no how.
It's a good suggestion, but...
You cain't tell a difference? The post on the left is Christmas. It was a good 2 inches longer.
I can't wait until theboy and thenewboy are teenagers. And don't go tellin' me about how it's gonna be.
Remember this day little brother.
I'm sorry, the link was broken(my first attempt at HTML). I didn't realize that the Vermont Volunteer Services for Animals was just an animal shelter. I got the link from the Showcatsonline.com web site.
And now I'm here with you fine people.
I'm probably making an incorrect assumption that it's a shelter of some kind...basing it on my last experience. I thought the lady the vets gave me a number for would be someone who had a list of people who wanted cats or something...not someone with a small kennel. But that's what it turned out she had. And she said even Halvah was too old to place - said she'd likely be stuck in a cage for gosh knows how long, but if I really didn't mind doing that to my cat, she MIGHT be able to take 'em...
Hence I've been vey, VEY depressed these past few days. And have accomplished almost nothing where the house is concerned.
Oh, and I did figure out the link...just had two letters swapped in "rescue"...so that was OK. ;-)
Hi Corin! You've been busy! I've been to the bank, then to Aldis, made brownies for the boys 'cause they got a compliment on their behavior both at the post office and at the tag agency.
Just checkin' in. We're out working on the Bug. I found a toy soldier and a Terminator doll that looks like Ah-nold but it's face flips open to show a cyborg. I tucked it away...think I'll pull it out and give it to Joshua on the maiden cruise.
Which is so obviously a long long time away. He he.
See ya later!
Wife is packing away her Ruby Depression glass. We're getting rid of the "pie safe." (see pic below). It's officially an antique, but it's not in the best of shape. It was my great grandmothers, but it sat out on a porch for decades.
If'n anybody wants it, it's free to a good home. And there's no cats involved.
I like it! But the shipping would be a little high on it, and this place is jam-packed full. I own a china hutch somewhere... It's at Dona's house I think ;~D
I'm here - we've not been busy today, though ecurbh is currently in town, so he's doing better than me. I played a bit outside (dog poo patrol) and that's about it. More fun and games a bit later (horse poo).
My life :~D
I'm in a "get this crap out of my house" mood. Just listed four books for sale on Amazon.
I've been reading John Jakes' Savannah or A Gift for Mr. Lincoln. I usually like Jakes. He did North and South and the Kent Family Chronicles - The Bastard and several more.
But he must be getting old. Or careless. I put the book down when I read the following line.
Ah, but this new mistake felt so good. He'd worry about consequences tomorrow..
It's a book about the South set in Savannah during the Civil War. Need I say more?
I think that was in Erica Jong's Fear of Flying ;~D
I've never mistaken you for a Southernor...
Heh...And I won't mistake that for a compliment ;~D
'course not.
I changed "accused" to "mistaken"
;-)
Thanks to you, I decided to do one more search on Siamese rescue, and found that the nationwide Siamese rescue site has a message board. There aren't any local groups, but there's a forum that lets people post cats looking for homes...we'll see if anything comes of that.
If it works, I owe you big time! ;-)
I'd really feel better about someone with experience with Siamese taking 'em. They aren't for everyone and that's for sure.
I found "Elbereth Gilthoniel"-- it has driven me crazy trying to find the words in Howard Shore's many choruses, but maybe I'm not the only hobbithead looking for it . It is in the early scene where Frodo wakes up in Rivendell, has recovered and walks onto the balcony, the first two lines of the elven hymn are sung. This is only my favorite scene in the whole movie, and I couldn't recognize the lyrics! Finally, I heard it.
"Welcome to Rivendell, Frodo Baggins."
I've never known what many of the very ethereal lyrics said either.... Thanks for letting us know.
