Dumb question, as I don't know what kind of van you have or its condition.
How about letting U-Haul put a tow hitch on it and load up one of their little trailers?
Even one of the not-so-little, if the van could handle it.

My van is pretty small...but more than that, I'm absolutely terrified of this drive as-is. There's no WAY I'd attempt it with a trailer. Just couldn't do it. No way no how.
