The Hobbit Hole XIX - Tomorrow we may come this way...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 01/27/2005 9:59:05 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Tomorrow we may come this way...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

You don't have to do that. Just realize that although a lot of people don't *get* it, I'm really attached to my cats, and this is by far the hardest part of this move.

You don't want to go, and then feel guilty about making the wrong decision with them.

Pass this home up if you don't like it... maybe something better will happen.

In the redacted history version, you were a perfect gentleman. :~D

Ha ha...you guys are really funny.

;-)

I know what you mean about the nest boxes! Jar jar has her favorite and if someone is in it, she just boots 'em out...it's hysterical. They all gripe and make all kinds of racket.

Steve's working on his paper...he's home, so I'm trying to keep the kids quiet!

I'll check back in now and then. Gotta get breakfast.

Sounds like you need to hand that resignation letter in on Tuesday so's you can get going about your bidness and not have to worry about anyone at work finding out!

heh... jest got this from an old jarhead buddy...

Since we all have a few skeletons in the closet (in Beasts case, a really big closet) I figured I’d better get this out in the open and find out how much it’s going to cost in both dollars and favors.

I have been approached by the conservative right wing of the state of Iowa Republican party and asked to run for the Senate seat in my district. (currently being held by a female liberal, anti gun, anti military, anti, anti, anti….) This would of course require that I stop dragging my knuckles, walk up right and stop using the F word as an adjective, verb, noun and general description of most government officials (not you Hxx or Kxxxx).

The pay sucks, but I figure the kick backs and bribes might make it worth it. I would have to keep my day job and would have to commute to Des Moines three days a week for a couple of months each year.

So, what’s this gonna take to keep you all from showing up in Iowa for a few years and off the internet?????

p.s. I haven’t decided weather I’m running or not, I’m waiting to see what my staff would look like. Wink, wink, nod nod.

I offered him muh services tuh take keer of any... shall we say... issues...

Yeah, I think so.

On the bright side...I just sold the microwave and the microwave stand, and they are interested in the free chair and sofa as well...I'm keepin' my fingers crossed as it was for her daughter who she says is "fussy", but if something is free...maybe she won't be, so much. ;-)

Now I gotta remember how to live without a microwave for a while.

I mostly only use mine for popcorn and vegetables...but I'll miss it just the same.

They have one out at the house, though. Not like I'll be without one long.

In other news, Dad is putting a note about the cats up on the electronic bulletin board at work. That's how I've sold / given away pretty much everything else, but it hasn't worked for pets in the past. Prayers from those so inclined would be much appreciated!

I know this is really rough, Rosie, and I'm praying for you. I hope everything works out well for the kitties.
