The Hobbit Hole XIX - Tomorrow we may come this way...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 01/27/2005 9:59:05 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Tomorrow we may come this way...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

It's evening out, although I did get a chance to check out the A Beka curriculum yesterday, as their reps were in town. I think I like it better, although I may end up weeding out *their* natural history and science stuff as well to implement the Usborne books, which I like A LOT.

I got bored with Hannity...don't know why. I didn't know he had badmouthed the Aggies, though. BIG NO NO!!! My dad is a Class of '55 and would not take kindly to that. My poor dad, he tried so hard to get me to go to A&M. He's given up on me thought and started working on my daughter. There's more likelihood of her going though because she wants to be a veterinarian. Still, I have many fond memories of A&M/UT Thanksgiving games, and always loved watching the Corp Band at halftime. EXCELLENT show. SuperBowl ain't innit!

Well, I had wondered what the deal was. Ridiculous Hannity...for a while a large portion of FR had been so supportive of him.

I told Matthew she said so...he got a chuckle out of i!

He loves popcorn, just like me. Joshua is not a big fan, and when he does eat it, he avoids the salt. He just likes butter only. His skin is so dry and his lips are always slightly cracked (no matter how often he applies lip balm) and just wants nothing to do with anything salty.

Home apartment... I have class, I can't miss two sets of lectures this week. I might leave the last class early... I could catch the 4:45 bus instead of the 5:15.

Man, and I sooo wanted to go to anime club tonight, their favorite stupid series got licensed and I want to see the tears when they announce we'll stop watching it. Heh heh hehe

This day is dragging again. I went and did a coupla upgrades and set up times to do some more, but it's too close to the end of the day to start anything else.

Got another call - someone interested in the exercise bike - the one in the Halvah picture. So...that's positive.

Still have the computer desk and the free stuff. And my rocking chair, if I can't cram that into Van-sama.

When people come by to look at furniture, you should offer to throw in a cat free ;-)

Have you tried posting fliers at the vet's, the grocery store, etcetera?

Not yet. I have one made up, though.

Thing is...it's a vey small community, so I think I'll wait until I give my boss the letter before I do something quite that public.

I'm a coward.

Sounds like Joshua needs to drink more water!
How's about a cuppa coffee?

Yeah...I keep it available all the time...he drinks it when he's thirsty. But this poor child has had bad skin problems, dryness is just part of it, since the day he was born. I'm afraid it's psoriasis...it runs in mine and Steve's family, my brother has it all over his entire body and takes injections for it, so does my mom. Both of them had their psoriasis "trigger" when they were given steroids for something...brother for an inflammed eye and mom for arthritis like symptoms in her hip.

Guess what they gave me when I lost my hearing, a month before Joshua was born?

Oh, no time for coffee!! Gotta run! Latin today!

Just got off the phone with the tax people here in OK. They sent out our check today! Woohooo! And according to the IRS, our federal refund should go into the bank tomorrow!

It took me 45 minutes of dialing and being on hold to finally speak to a live person at the OK tax commission. Sigh.

Dear Boss,

I have decided to relocate to Colorado and am therefore submitting my resignation effective (insert date here).

In token of my appreciation for this job, I have enclosed two slightly used Siamese cats.

Sincerely,

Rosie Cotton
