The Hobbit Hole XIX - Tomorrow we may come this way...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 01/27/2005 9:59:05 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Tomorrow we may come this way...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

'Morning! It's snowing here again....purty coming down. Hope it doesnt' stick.

Anybody know anything about Windows shutdown problems? My machine does this continuous reboot thing everytime I shut down. It was doing it with Win98 SE installed and now it does it with a complete disk reformat and Windows XP newly installed before I loaded any other programs. I don't see any problems in the Device Manager and I updated the BIOS and everything.

I saw where y'all were. Bless her heart.

We can share the pic this morning. We slept in and didn't make it to church. Cold and icy here and I drove thru sleet and freezing rain for about 10 hours last night.

Funny that it's cold there, very warm here...usually when it's cold in VA, it's also cool in Miami. We may get some cooler weather in a day or two, though. Supposed to hit 75 today.

Click for Richmond, Virginia Forecast

It's actually not too bad here right now. But we drove across I-64 from Kentucky. Going thru West Virginia and coming across Afton mountain was pretty tricksey.

Somehow, if there's going to be fog, or bad weather, Afton Mountains is the place to find it...long as I can remember that's been a bad spot.

I love the drive across the Blue Ridge, the Valley and the Alleghenies on I-64, one of the all time pretty roads, IMO.

It's a beautiful drive in the daytime. It wasn't so pretty last night.

Glad y'all made it backhome safely. Put on another pot of coffee and enjoy the day! We just got back from Mass with a box of Dunkin Donuts (SB starts again tomorrow), and the coffee's almost done.

We're over 30 degrees today and really sunny. SSQ is fixing to start the wiring for the Direct TV. The satellite folks don't do 'wall fishing', so SSQ's doing all the 'in the wall' wiring to get it ready for them.

I'd rather put her to sleep.

I basically just woke up. I was up all night pulling off this election.

Now, "Bless her heart" means "what a moron" in Southern, right?

Morning, all. We were supposed to get snow and ice last night but it didn't come (well, it looks kind of icy out) so now I'm feeling guilty... I was gonna drive over to the next town to try a church there but it being forty minutes away I got scared of the weather.

Yeah - that's my understanding. I think she got dumber overnight, or else I just am not in as good a mood. ;~D She's posting again this morning.

Gosh... if only... Our president sure hired some good people to pull this off. Our troops, and the Iraqis working with us, managed to get done what more than a few hoped would fail.

Oh, oh, I don't know... I mean, outside my town, there's nothing, right?

No, wait... I'm remembering again... I used this crystal ball called "Google". Of course only us highly-trained computer professionals can find things out about other towns with Google.

I have less sympathy that you do, Hair, because this girl is about my age. And also because I've noticed her on FR before and she's always struck me as trying for attention - all over religious threads proclaiming her Deism, for instance. And because no one should be that stupid.

Honestly, I know more about Africa than she does about her own country.
