Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Tomorrow we may come this way...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I think a soft carrier sounds great. I've thought about getting one...but why? LOL I just think they'd be handy to have around, case one of the kids gets on my nerves while I'm driving.
LOL!!! I'm just kidding!! I'm not THAT terrible.

2J, I'm disappointed. What do you think duct tape is for?
I'm outta here.

Margaret likely doesn't want to stay in Fort Collins to drive for me forever...
Seriesly, this is probably THE biggest thing that has kept me in Vermont all this time. Everytime I've thought of moving, the driving has kept me here.
I think the only way to get over it is just to confront it, but it's not something I'm looking forward to...

Soft carriers are lighter, too. That's not such a bad thing!
So...I may start researching those.

Once you're in Fort Collins, I'll be able to help drive... you can take the bus... it's getting here that's half the challenge. I admit, I love driving, so I don't quite understand your phobia, but I know you can do this.

I like driving when there aren't towns involved! Like...that trip to Maine last summer was a blast. So there are portions of the trip I'll likely enjoy.
But the parts with toll booths...and traffic...and multiple lanes where you can accidentally get in the wrong one and have a really hard time getting back, especially with other drivers who aren't patient with stupid out of staters... *shudder* That's the sort of thing I have nightmares about. Seriously!

One can't have too many dishes... You know, I used to believe that. Now, I have given about halfof my dishes to my brother cuz I simply don't have room for all of it. There are *too many dishes*.

I have four plates, so it's hard to imagine having too many dishes.

Here I 've been talking about how we don't do much for Valentine's Day, and the UPS man brings me a Pro Flowers box. It's a dozen and a half long stemmed roses in four different colors! They're gorgeous!
I'd better get going on that Gumbo! ;o)

Hey, I was thinking of you and your car lease today. You know what I did?
When I bought my van, I went to the dealer, picked out just what I wanted, made a list of everything it had and then went to my credit union. They told me what the base car plus all the extra stuff was worth at cost.
I went back to the dealer, took $2000 out of my back pocket, told them I wanted the car for $300 over cost with the 2 grand as a down payment. Guy says "We can't do that!" I said "Thank you for your time!" and he went and got the manager and they gave me that car for 300 over the base cost plus extras at 4.9% interest.
He he. I think it was the 2K I was waving around...

All my dishes, even though they say "Microwave safe" get really hot in the microwave.
I like Corel. It doesn't get hot at all except where the food is, of course.

They make them like HUGH duffle bags. You lower then from the top of the van and just roll them where you need them to go. It is a set of two, so by themselves, they likely wouldn't get too heavy unless you put books in them. Bulky, but lightweight stuff would work well, as would clothes.

I'm thinking of getting something like
this, if I could find one on eBay or something.
But if you can find something like what you're describing, let me know! I'm hoping to spend less than fifty dollars, but we'll see, I guess.

They didn't have either of those in the store! Must be mail order only items.
They could work....
I do like that the hard ones lock, but there's no getting around the fact that they're pricier and more cumbersome. I have to think they're less likely to just blow off, though...
