making me want to make that is!
I am looking forward to having a roommate so when I feel as crappy as I do, there'll be someone to cook dinner for me...
Ooh...now that really sounds good! I love cranberry bread...
Aw...sorry you aren't feeling well! I'd be happy to cook if I was there!
I'm heading out in a few minutes here to look at that cartop carrier thing! I'm worrying, though, because I won't have a clue if the thing works with my car, and if the guy isn't patient with my questions...it could be frustrating. And it would be wonderful if this thing DOES work out!
I just have visions of Margaret and I only getting it sort of working and having it fall off with all my belongings inside somewhere in the middle of a city or something. Eek!
Pick up some Vick's vapor rub on your way home. It'll help you sleep. You got anything else to take?
If he isn't patient, walk away. You're the buyer. You're in control.
Yeah, yeah...I know.
But there aren't a lot of these around. This is the ONLY one in any of the classifieds papers I got.
Still, I don't want to spend a bunch of money on something that I'm not POSITIVE will work.
I checked in at the health center (just because I was afraid it could be bronchitis or something) and they told me what to get. I'll pick that up, and the Vick's, too.
But I feel really dreadful now.
True, but don't let him know you're thinking that. If he wants to sell it to you, he'll be patient with your questions.
I know the feeling. Rest as much as you can.
Heh, thanks. It's not likely to happen. The best I'll manage is to program in bed instead of at my desk, tonight. I hope to be home permanently before 10...
Did you decide what to get for the Missus? I splurged big time; got a mylar balloon, a card, and a little box of Ferrero Rocher chocolates. Fixing to go make Gumbo and a Red Velvet Cake. YUM! He'll like the Gumbo most of all, I'm guessing!
I'm home. I gots ice. Postman said his boys are doing good and that they love their knives.
He says that every time I go in there, which is nice, but what's even better is when he first glances up, sees me and recognizes me and just breaks into the biggest grin. He knows how much we appreciate his sons, he's reminded when he sees me and you can see it all over his face how he appreciates it.
It's neat.
That's what's so nice about making your own breads. You can add just about anything you want to them. Did it turn out sweet enough without the additional sugar?
With all that's been going on we mutually decided to play it low key. We're in survival mode.
Going out Saturday night was a treat. After the show we went with some friends to the Cheesecake Bistro. I had my calorie allotment for the next seven months. But then again, calories don't count if someone else picks up the tab, right? (It was their turn).
I went through a bread baking phase a few years ago and the cranberry/orange turned out to be my favorite sweet bread.
Garlic/rosemary foccia is the other one I like to make. I found a huge square Sicilian pizza pan that takes up my entire oven so I can make some humongous loaves.
It's interesting to experiment with all the different variables when making bread...amount of water, oil or none, what type of flour to best carry a load of fruit or nuts, etc.
My domestic side is showing, I'd better shut up.
I'm gonna have to try my hand at bagels sometime. The kids love Garlic Bagels and it's hard to find them without going to some pricy bagel store to get them, and I'm just too cheap to do that on a regular basis! ;o)
I agree!
Yes...plenty sweet. The raisins made it very sweet, imo. And when I get finished putting the apple butter on this one with the sunflower seeds, it's should be very sweet.
It's what I liked about the harvest blend bagels. They weren't horribly sweet.
