Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Tomorrow we may come this way...

New verse:

     | Upon the hearth the fire is red,Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
 Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!
 |
      |
      | Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!
 |
      |
Home is behind, the world ahead,And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
Well wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!
 |

Hello! Thought I would stop by. Been trying to catch up with the HH threads. Having a time with my internet service going out on me. Sometimes you wonder if it's worth it. . .computers, internets. Diff. a love/hate relationship.
Anyway. . .hope everyone is OK and having a good weekend.

Is Slipstream a movie or show? If it's a movie I might have to find it... I love finding the logical flaws in time travel stories. Some of them are doozies...

Yes, at 1:00 (Easterm).
Good story. Picked up some of the Egyptian references.

Movie, made for SciFi channel. Couple small plot holes, especially during the last rewind (you'll know what that is when you see it).
Also plainly visible painted-over squib holes on a vehicle for a future machine-gun burst.
Cool plane crash, if a bit too flaming.

If that's the exhibit that was in Boston in the Fall, it is terrific! All the costumes and weapons were just wonderful to see close up. The care taken in creating them was just awe-inspiring.

I gotta get off now...hubby just popped in a movie and wants me to watch it with him...Mel Gibson!! *joy!* Speaking of movies, I see that there is now a new "ultimate edition" of "Princess Bride" out. I don't consider it a chick-flick because it has some pretty famous cameos in it, and some absolutely great lines. Any movie with concepts like the brute squad, holocaust cloak, and the Dread Pirate Roberts (tm), is all right in my book.
