The Hobbit Hole XIX - Tomorrow we may come this way...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Tomorrow we may come this way...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I think my bread machine actually has a pizza dough setting. How lazy am I, I ask you? LOL

The only time I have "bought" pizza is at work when they send out. I awlays make my own. And with a bread machine I can set it to have the dough ready Just when I walk through the door.

The dough freezes well. I usually freeze half of my bread machine dough.

What do you do for a sauce??

I've always either ordered out, made a kit pizza or frozen...

Then when I'm less lazy I have another recipe with a bit of cornmeal that comes out great. Even my sister's kids complimented me on that crust.

I don't really do sauce. I get canned diced tomatoes or tomato puree and I sprinkle with salt, pepper (black or red crushed pepper if I have it), and basil.

Depending on scheduling, sure!

The main catch to our schedule is that we need to end each night somewhere with a hotel that allows pets. Other than that, we're fairly flexible. I'll let you know how things work out as time gets closer!

Butting into your converstion...;-)

I just use plain tomato sauce from a can, and then sprinkle on some garlic powder and oregano. Sometimes use fresh garlic, which is soooo good, but certain siblings complain if there are "chunks", so the power is easier. Sissies...

Improvise the sauce, then. Got it! :-)

I should surprise Steve some time with a good homemade pizza...

You were talking about it too!! We're having an evening conversation...you're not butting in, you're participating!

Matthew wouldn't tolerate the chunks...he can handle powdered anything, but no chunks.

Heh!

Steve just called. He's heading out to his wetland, gonna collect samples and pour in another bucket of dye. Said he hopes to be home by 10pm.

Thanks for keeping me company, guys!

Yep...8:30am?

He's been waiting for it to rain all day and had to stay at the office because that is where the monitors report to...electronic monitors of some sort in the stormwater system. He needed to be there when it started. Apparently it just got heavy enough rain to trigger the monitors and now he's off to the site.

Then he has to go to the lab and meet a lab person to run a fecal choriform (sp?) test.

So while he's been waiting all day for it to rain hard enough to get a sample, he's been writing on his paper and he told me earlier it was going really well. So that's good.

I made the VW cookies and that made me feel better about missing the VW Club meeting.

He'll be home all day tomorrow.
