New verse:

Grr...stayed around all afternoon because the people were supposed to come look at the treadmill, and they never did. FINALLY called to cancel. But I wasted basically a whole day. I really, really hate that.
Going over to Wal-Mart for a few things. It'll be interesting being somewhere where I can shop without having to drive forty minutes to several hours, depending on what I want to get...
Looks like the rain is here. I think Gypsygirl will be forgoing her afternoon walk.
Glad the home improvement session went well. That can be frustraterating at times.
Quiet rainy afternoon, bit too warm for a fire but we gots good books and snoozing aminals around the living room.
What is Carrabbas? I don't even know!
But ya know, it's true - maybe we could meet up with folks along the way for at least a cup of coffee and a chat! It'd be fun! Hard to know where we'll be, but we're hoping to at least plan out where we're staying at night along the way, so could work!
The Amazing Traveling Moot Show! ;-)
Pinging you to the above post, too - we'll be traveling through Iowa, though I don't know what part you're in!
So far, so good on the home improvement. Tomorrow I'll sand it lightly and apply a second stain. May sand and stain a 3rd time depending on how it looks and then a coat of polyurethane. Then I can start on the wall. I guess I should stop at one of the local Bed Bath & Beyonds for a decorative drapery rod that isn't a piece of junk.
Going anywhere near Kansas City? I have an air mattress and a queen sized sleeper sofa.
Yeah, I think you'll like it! You'll have more spare time, or possibly less money, depending on your likes.
Heck, there are a lot of things within walking distance.
I'm so disappointed!!
Tonight is the Tulsa VW Club meeting and I was going to go...but I don't know anyone and I don't want to go without Steve! And he's working on his paper.
Apparently he's on some sort of roll...so I should be glad, I suppose.
Still...
:-(
Awww, too bad!
It sounds like you need to conquer your fear of strange people, like Rosie needs to conquer her driving fears and I need to conquer my "going new places" fears.
Eggshell is the finish that you would use in a kitchen or bathroom. It is more satin than matte, and is scrubbable.
And that would solve the mini-moot need before Shootmoot!
In Rosie's case, it would be feed the hungry, wandering Hobbits, as Mug would be with her!
Have folks freepmail you their cell-phone or home phone numbers and you can call if you know when you'll be coming through and where. Even if it's not in their actual town, if it's close, maybe they'd drive a bit to meet up and have supper, or whatever meal is appropriate, upon your arrival!
Don't think we're going very close to where you are. :-(
At least I won't have to clean.
Hopefully I'll still be seein' ya at Shootmoot, though!
I'm making the cookies! Just the experimental ones, a simple almond flavored sugar cookie that I rolled out and cut into the little cars! I found using too much flour on my surface prevents the sugar crystals from sticking...I poured the sugar crystals into a dish and lifted the cookies off the surface and flipped them into the sugar and pushed down to imbed the sugar into the top of the cookie.
They're baking now...they look precious!
And you wouldn't have had to clean on my account anyway. I'm the queen of lousy housekeepers, remember?
