Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Tomorrow we may come this way...

New verse:

     | Upon the hearth the fire is red,Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
 Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!
 |
      |
      | Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!
 |
      |
Home is behind, the world ahead,And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
Well wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

    Here's the website for Numb3rs:
http://www.cbs.com/primetime/numb3rs/. There's a "feedback" link on the bottom of the page. The feedback form doesn't show "Numb3rs" on the list of shows, but you could select "Other" and then reference it in the body of the message.

    Good luck on the interview!

My hat don't hang on the same nail too long.
My ears can't stand to hear the same old song.
An' I don't leave the highway long enough,
To bog down in the mud.
'Cause I've got ramblin' fever in my blood.

I read about this show in Entertainment Weekly at the orthodontist's office the other day. I meant to tell SSQ about it cause he's a Mathemetician/Statistician, but I forgot. I'll be curious to know what he thinks of it. I'll have to put it on the calendar to remind us when it comes on. Right now we watch "24" on Mondays, "House MD" on Tuesdays, and I'm gonna add "CSI NY" on Wednesdays. We keep forgetting until after the shows have started cause we'd gotten out of the evening TV watching habit. I'm usually freepin, anyway!

Rose and I have our computers set up so that we can use them and watch TV at the same time. :)

When SSQ puts a tv in the den, I'll be able to do that, too! ;o) I forgot to add that we watch "Monk" on Friday nights. I sure hope NUMB3RS (isn't that l33t sp3ak, BTW) doesn't come on at the same time!

Here is what I wrote to CBS...
Concerning NUMB3RS.. Hello!
I wanted to let you know that we are really enjoying the NUMB3RS show. My husband and I are pleased that we can watch it with our children. So many shows are inappropriate for younger children, but so far NUMB3RS has proven to be action-packed and exciting without being overly graphic. Thank you!
May I offer a suggestion? I personally think Charlie needs to be wearing black Chuck Taylor sneakers!! I think they fit his character.
CBS Nightly News is worthless. It's shows like NUMB3RS that should please your sponsers! It keeps me and my family tuning in.

I'll have a cuppa when I get home from picking Joseph up from school. Gotta leave in about 10 minutes, so I don't want to have to gulp down my tea!

You shouldn't hold back like that, 2J. You should let them know what you REALLY think! ;o)
Great letter!

DANG! Just found out that "NUMB3RS" and "Monk" are on at the same time. Guess we'll have to tape one while watching the other.

Figured out what was wrong with my computer... apparently the motherboard needs a BTX power supply. I'm looking at the documentation and it doesn't say so anywhere... sigh...

Oh dear...are they going to give you any trouble with exchanging the power supply?

I don't know if I can exchange it, since technically I got what I ordered. It's the motherboard that makes me upset. I could swear all it said was "ATX form factor".

Rose, is there such a thing as an ATX to BTX converter or will I have to get a new power supply?

That's from Merle Haggard's "Ramblin' Fever"... I've had it playing in my mind ever since Jen's post.

Nice letter, especially the shot at the Evening News! ;)
