Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Tomorrow we may come this way...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Yes indeed! Always a good feeling to have "made it" one more month! Even if just barely. There's nothing so distressing as not making it.
I just can't wait till the income taxes come in and I can tell Steve to go pay for school. That's just gonna be so much fun, I may go with him when he does it!

Never reveal your senseless and silly fears to Hobbit Holers...
I have a feeling ShootMoot is going to have a few surprises I don't plan on.....

That's why I don't want ceramic tile. I'm dropping stuff all the time. Standing on ceramic tile is also hard on the back! Wood or linoleum would be much more resilient.

Don't I know it, sis.
I'm amazed every month that I do make it through unscathed.
A lot of folks argue that one income families can't exist, but I've managed (with a lot of God's help) to support myself, my mom and my 2 kids on my salary.
And it's no great salary, lemme tell ya!

Speaking of ShootMoot, I'm afraid there won't be any more habanero flakes left for me to bring with me. I love it and am scarfing it down pretty quick.

Eww!! LOL
Did I ever tell you about the time Matthew barfed up a whole meal of mac and cheese into my chair? Not one single tooth mark in any of the noodles...he'd swallowed them whole. I was just (jokingly) bawling him out the whole time he was throwing them up that he needed to chew his food!!! "Look at that!" says I..."Not one single tooth mark!" He was barfing and cracking up at the same time.
I take great pride in the fact that I can make my kids crack up laughing even when right in the middle of barfing.

I wonder if there are any treats I could bring? Something small that I could only get up here.
I'll have to think!

Okay ladies (sorry if'n I missed anyone).
Monday is Valentine's Day. Corin needs creative ideas. You know the chaos of the Stormhands' household. So we need "inexpensive and clever."
"Going out" not a real option. We're going to see Harvey Korman and Tim Conway Saturday night (that can't be Valentine's, it was a Christmas present). And we've got Luke's birthday party Sunday afternoon.
Chocolates and flowers are too standard. Although they may be included in the presentation.
Not a lot of extry cash, so less spendy is better.
Discuss.
