Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Tomorrow we may come this way...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

do you enjoy the taste of yer own blood?... You know the next logical smart@$$ response would get me the stick, the box fan and likely get the thread pulled...
...and all that afore you even had the chance tuh kill me.

Well, if it's linoleum, they'd just bounce. Ceramic tile on the other hand...Ouch...
Though Dad has me paranoid about those now. They just redid the whole downstairs in ceramic tile - looks really nice. But he's vey nervous that someone will drop something and crack the tiles.
Even in my sleep I'd probably be careful only to drop a child on a soft part...say their rear end... ;-)
In reality, the tiles are probably a lot tougher than he thinks, but that's Dad for ya!

Projectile vomiting....better than South Beach...Been there, done that.
I think I prefer the slow method...

Been there, done that. Heh...haven't told this story in a long time.
When I started my radation treatment, the doctor gave me a prescription for some anti-nausea medicine. First day, I went to the treatment, went home and thought I was okay, but I'd take the medicine for good measure.
Promptly threw up the medicine and everything else for the day.
So I thought "well, at least perhaps I'll lose some weight." But it turned out that taking the medicine before the treatment and keeping a small amount of food on my stomach was the better option.
I felt queasy for the rest of the treatment (and for months afterward), but I didn't puke again.
Didn't lose no weight neither...

Good morning all.... rebellious teens, projectile vomiting... doctor's appointments, and a new knife report....
I think I'm caught up! Did I miss anything?

Oh my.... We've never done ceramic tile... but that is EXACTLY the way my dad would react to it. We've got to replace the kitchen floor this year (and that includes the foyer and downstairs bath). We talked about ceramic tile, but ruled it out, not because we were afraid of breaking it, but we were afraid that anything dropped on it (just think 5, 15, 74) would break.

Oh, no, Rosie, don't slack - but do enjoy the feeling of "this is all going to change soon".
I don't actually know yet whether it's really the power supply that's dead. I haven't had a chance to take it to someone. I'm still hoping I could have wired something wrong. Tomorrow afternoon I'm going to go - wow! I have an almost free weekend ahead of me!

Mom had the kitchen and hall redone in ceramic tile. It doesn't break as many things as you'd think, but it gets cold! That in bare feet's not pleasant... more pleasant than some of the things on the thread this morning. I'm glad I didn't really want breakfast anyway...
Corin, glad to hear about the PC.
