Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Tomorrow we may come this way...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

LOL!!! That is true!
Funny thing is, under really bad conditions, I do OK! Emergency situations seem to bring out the best in me. I could do code blues like nobody's business. Afterward, I'd have to sit down and collect myself (depending on the code). But then again, everyone else would too...even the docs. We'd have an impromtu discussion afterward where everyone would talk real fast and we'd re-hash the whole thing. Great stress reliever.

Hi, Alkhin! You always seem to stop in when the rest of us aren't around. ;-) Glad you found the new thread, though!

I'm logging off too, for the weekend, likely. Steve is coming home early due to the weather.
See you all later!

Looks like it, chica.
I've got a number of movies rented though, so I'll prolly just watch those.
Bought "Rudy" too, so I can look at Sean Astin for a while, outside of the Samwise role. :-D

I've got to learn an incredibly unintuitive computer language called Scheme this weekend. Woo-hoo.

I'm not a big fan of football movies, but this one's pretty good.
If anything, watching Rudy will help purge the memory of Astin's role in 50 First Dates. *shudder*

Dell reconditioned should be adaquete. Do NOT get a Celeron processor. It's more for Pentium but it's seriously worth the price.
What precisely do you want the computer for? How big a hard drive do you want? It's a good idea to pay a little more for extra RAM... lesseee... Dell desktops can be nice pieces of machinery. That's mostly what we have at school and I rarely have to deal with hardware problems.

and didn't seem concerned at how stupid I was about some of the questions. It's her job to answer questions. If you knew all the answers what would you need her for?

What precisely do you want the computer for? school and games fer thekidz, werd processin', digital photos...
what is the advantage of a DVD burner?... despite the obvious piratin' stuff... if'n we want to send digital video from our camera to the grandparents, can we use a CD/RW, or do we need a DVD burner?...
is 512 good fer RAM, or do we go with a GIG...
plan on this system lastin' a good while...
