Ooh, cool number!
I just got up from the basement after sorting through two 50-lb. boxes of knives from Camillus. They combined three orders, and they all landed on my doorstep this evening with a loud thump. This is just a quick summary, details and photos tomorrow.
To say I was stuned is an understatement.
10 CQB1SGs
15 CQB2Ss (closeout priced)
7 CQB3Ss (closeout priced)
20 BK2SGs
4 BK3SGs
The CQB1s and 2s are bright-brush-finished 154CM, a super-premium steel. However, they have 76 narrow grooves in the handle, rather than 24 wider ones in our current product line. I'll rummage around for needle files or checkering tools. Gotta see if I can put in some shallow grooves to increase grip security.
ALL of the knives came in commercial packaging. Bad news for me, I have to pitch all of it to save space at home, and in shipping. But that's just a bother.
However, I was dumbfounded to discover that NONE of the Becker models came with a sheath of any kind. Is that the way the government wanted them? I already shot off an email to Michelle-from-Camillus begging for any explanation that makes sense.
Oh, and a pleasant surprise: they threw in 25 decks of Western Cutlery (another of their product lines) playing cards, and 25 Western red bandanas.
Tomorrow will be a busy and "interesting" day.
"Bafflecrap" is a great word. We learned a new one from our #1 son when he came home for Christmas. When something is outstandingly bad it's CRAPTACULAR! I thought it was a cool word!
I know nothing about how and why computers work and don't really care to learn! I know that's a typical female attitude, but I only want to know how to make it do what I want it to do. I'll tell SSQ to 'give me the recipe' so I'll know how to do a particular task again. Works for me!
I'm not sure, but I think my local weather has turned a corner, that we're out of the worst of the winter. For a couple of weeks there it would get near zero overnight and only into the high 20s daily. Over the weekend it got into the 40s, and a lot of the snow has melted. Today it's supposed to snow, but remain in the 30s; Low for the week is 17 (Thur.)
We shall see...
Promises to be a busy day. *sigh*
Good Morning!
We've got snow coming today.
Glad it's going to be fixed so quickly, Corin!
So...tonight is music night, and likely the night I'll break this whole move idea to someone other than close friends. Wonder how they're gonna take it. Doesn't really matter either way, but this is...rather out of character for me! They'll think I've lost my marbles.
Margaret and I did a tiny bit more talking about the trip last night. It's looking like we'd likely leave somewhere in the middle of the first full week of April. The sixth would be kinda nice as it's exactly three months from when I decided. She's going to check at work and see what kind of time she can get off.
And I made the mistake of upgrading someone's system and only telling their secretary, who didn't tell them, and it's someone in my chain of command. I was trying to do a good thing. I'm so clueless sometimes.
I was hoping we were done with the worst part of winter, and maybe we are when it comes to temps, but I heard last night that yet another snowstorm is on the way. Joseph is thrilled because it might mean no school for him. They're expecting it Wed. night into Thurs., which is actually fine because I didn't have to go anywhere on Thurs. anyway!
Yep, that's me.
*sigh*
I need to e-mail him and apologize, I guess, and tell him I'll gladly spend some time explaining the differences, though there really aren't many. But...like I said, I was trying to do a good thing.
If we don't upgrade quickly, some squawk. If we upgrade at all, some squawk. There's no winning.
At least these days, Sherman knows how Atlanta felt.
Good morning everyone!

Gotta problem. I'm grounded, you know...tire has steel belt showing. My only concern is how I'm going to get the kids to Latin this Thursday...I can get the two boys who have to go to Latin in the truck with me...just Matthew and Celeste's boy. But I enjoy taking her daughter too and Joshua and there is no way that many kids will fit in the truck! LOL
Maybe I can borrow her car...she is still under the weather and might let me borrow her car just so I can get Rainey out and about for a couple of hours.
I don't know if it's appropriate to ask.
Maybe the taxes will come into our account before then and I can get the tire fixed!
GOOD MORNING HOBBITS, DWARVES;ELVES; WIZARDS AND ALL!
ROTFL!!
Of course it's appropriate to ask! I'm sure she would be thrilled for you to use her car, especially since you are helping her, as well! Remember, "you don't ask, you don't get"!
Mornin! You done good on the Dose yesterday!
So April 6th is D-Day? Well, then, I'll get moving.
It's snowing this morning. There's an inch on the ground and great white flakes drifting down. Very pretty. As long as the bus is running, I don't care...
Excellent, Mister Mag. Odd about the sheaths. Wonder whats up with that.
Morning everybody! [sip]
