The Hobbit Hole XIX - Tomorrow we may come this way...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 01/27/2005 9:59:05 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Tomorrow we may come this way...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

At this time of day?

Fried chicken, sweet corn-on-the-cob with extry butter, and Missus Lee's biscuits.

I stand corrected. Thank you.

It really does sound that way on AM radio, though...really...

I sometimes call it Mos Eisley - because it is a hive of scum and villiany - but that reference is a bit obscure.

Can you tell I'm not fond of cities???

He sure has come a long way since I first told you about him.

The gunnery sergeant passed away.

Remember Men at Work?

"I come from a land down under
Where beer does flow and men chunder
Can’t you hear, can’t you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover."

In 1982 (or so) I had no idea what that meant...but I liked the tune...

WTG Andy.

Wonder if he'll stop by here one of these days...

Heh..I don't know. I sometimes wonder, with all the things he's going through, if he's even thought about who we are more than in passing...you know? Maybe someday, when getting better and learning how to walk on that new foot are not so pressing, he'll sit down and think "I wonder who those people were??? I'm gonna look 'em up!"

:-)

And here we'll be!

He did! It's small and red and says "SOLD!".

Heh...

Gathering up loose change and wrapping it right now. I was getting sick of seeing all the piles and containers around, especially as I'm trying to sort stuff. I haven't done the pennies yet, and I already have $34! There's my first tank and a half of gas! :-)

wishing God would kinda give me a sign, though I know that's not right to ask.

Sure you should have asked! My belief is, "You don't ask, you don't get"! See how it worked for you? He was only waiting for you to make up your mind. Once you did, things began falling into place.

"I sent you the boat, and the search party... what more did you want?"

Heh, I heard it with a man in a flood, but very similar. For some reason, people tend to think God always answers prayers in very dramatic ways, when sometimes it's very subtle, we just have to keep watching for it.

Now in Rosie's case, He was just FULL of drama, what with the house going in one day and all!

Got this today! A picture of Andy walking!

Gotta love that; Andy walking on the new leg CARRYING his crutches! Talk about drama in answered prayers!

You'll do fine with the Dose, Pippin. Mainly folks just want to know someone is carrying on. They'll have lots of patience with you while you learn.

We've been to the Outback. It's pretty good, though I don't think we've ever had dessert there. We went to Bugagoo Creek Steak House last night. Somehow, I think it's owned by the same folks; seemed similar somehow, though Bugagoo has a Canadian theme going on rather than the Australian.

Since it was Joseph's birthday dinner we ordered two desserts and the four of us shared. They had a chocolate cake that was one of the most delicious things I've ever eaten! It was a deep dark chocolate torte type cake with a lighter chocolate frosting; very moist and yummy! Maybe the Chocolate Chunder is like that. You could prolly go online to check out the menu. That's what we did with Bugaboo.

Kitty's taking her morning nap too. Neighbor cat hasn't shown up yet today.

What should I do today? I guess I should try to smoothe out the drywall patch around the sgd and tape around the door frame or something.

Couldn't believe the number of people waiting to get seated as we left.

We decided to do an early dinner thing last night. We got there about 4, and the place was about 25% full, when we left, the place was packed, there were about 6 groups waiting, and we heard the wait was almost 45 mins! Glad we went early!
