Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Tomorrow we may come this way...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I think I may have to start adopting the attitude of the innkeeper.
We have our little 1,100 square foot house with 2 adults, 3 kids, 2 dogs, and 3 cats. Things get a bit crowded every so often.

I'm about to head to class. Sigh. Hopefully the former member of my group who we got removed for plagiarism won't cause any trouble today.

If you already have three cats...two more wouldn't make much difference, would it?
Want some? ;-)

I have to beg Margaret to let me use her floor, too. ;-) Try begging her with a couple twenties.....

Heh, yeah, better start looking!
I'm sure Margaret will be happy to accomodate you. After all, it'll be temporary. How long are you thinking of staying there, or haven't you decided yet?

You're assuming I HAVE a couple twenties...
I'll probably try guilt first.

It'll really depend on how fast the house sells! If it's very fast, I'll probably stay out at the house as soon as closing time gets close, and probably for a few months after that to save up for travel.
Ya know, the PERFECT situation would be if the house sells within the first month, and then I stick around until late May or so. That way I could travel to the wedding in April, wrap up all paperwork, and save a little spending money since I wouldn't have the mortgage payment.
Whether the perfect situation occurs is another matter, but we'll see. So far things have gone so smoothly it's a little spooky.

I think I may have to start adopting the attitude of the innkeeper. Take my advice. Do it now before your mother-in-law needs a place to stay.

That is a good point. Actually, introducing two cats (whatever their age) who have lived together and get along are better than introducing one strange cat into an established heirarchy of pets.
