Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Tomorrow we may come this way...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Some of those I can enjoy but it is hard to appreciate heroic deaths when I spend so much time laughing at the technology.

Oh, "The Core" was a great terrible movie.
I've heard enough about Million Dollar Baby that I'll never see it. Not that I'd have wanted to see a boxing movie, but a boxing/euthenasia movie, eww.

any mail from IMEF?...No, but I'm heading to the PO with a shipment of Ka-Bars, and I'll check again.
Everyone: the first Camillus Cuda arrived incountry the other day, and I got this email from someone who saw it, and was somewhat impressed.
----------------
I would first like to thank you and all the people from the web site that support us for what we do over here. I keep telling my guys that it is a great time to be in the Army. The outpouring of support from the folks back home is like nothing I have seen in my 17 years in the Army and through 6 wartime deployments.
One of the Sergeants in my unit received the Cuda Blackops knife with pocket knife and I was amazed at the quality and usefulness these knives would be to my men. By field, we are parachute riggers, and by war we do everything from convoys to fly re-supply missions to guard "Hajis". By any task these knives would be great additions to our kits. Most of us here have been in Iraq on 3 separate deployments since 2002, and I think this should qualify my troops to a little recognition that your organization could give. Not to mention, riggers love knives! I have a total of 8 soldiers here in Balad.
In any case thanks again for the support you have show the deployed troops around the world and keep up the great work.

That is awesome. That Cuba is a great looking knife. I may have to get me one to complement 'treebane'.

That is awesome. That Cuba is a great looking knife. I may have to get me one to complement 'treebane'.Rush to the site where I got a bunch for $30 each. Try to buy 2 or 3, if you can. I'll reimburse you for the "extras", and for the postage to send them to me. SG is already on to me, and won't sell me any more. But we've cleaned out Camillus, so any more that we can get for $30 is a bonus.

Don't you need to bury a statue of St. Joseph upside down in your backyard? I heard that helps. ;^)I made a Novena just before we put our house up for sale in NJ. Worked for me; we sold it a week after listing it!

Have not seen that movie. But from what I hear it was a SF disaster of a movie.Actually it's kind of a fun movie! Formulaic and all that, but fun, anyway.
