Glad it was night and the blinds were closed. Lordy that was embarassing! Both teams did a lousy job and deserved to be in the Board Room.
Trump's hair moves?
I liked Bren before last night.
Hi pbear8. Agree, the marathon idea could have been worked into something usable, but would have had to feature women winning to appeal to the target audience. Had I been in charge, I would have moved in a different direction, going ultra-Houswives glam.
Bren's idea was perfectly lousy, but I still like him, for his southern chawm if nothing else. I won't miss Kriss. I wouldn't miss any of them, as a matter of fact. The Donald will have to hire the winner to run the toilet-cleaning crew at Trump Tower, as anything more complicated would seem beyond them. Well, with the possible exception of last week's winning grrrrrrl who did show plenty of moxie....Amie? Angie? Whoever, she was pretty sharp.
What's with the tag line? Rummy, Charles and Camilla? LOL
What a bunch of idiots last night. Not a single drop of creative talent in either team, but I enjoyed the show anyway, found it quite amusing. Did anyone else think about that clever young Harvard debate team fellow last season who pulled together the almost-ready-for-primetime NYPD commercial? He definitely had talent for the ad biz.
I have no doubt that the Donald is featuring Donny Deutch as some sort of trade-off for free advertising or creative services for Trump enterprises. Deutch has now become a household name. No matter, the Deutch segments on Apprentice are fun to watch.
Will they go back to Levi? The new Mrs. Trump is on their payroll now making big bucks as a model.
And so it goes in the Big Business Club.
Well, it's obvious that one thing Burnett/Trump find easy to do is do product placement in their shows.
"You folks are standing in front of (
(all those long breaks should simply be (---), like you see after the word "best". Dunno why it formatted like that. Sorry for any confusion).
Glam housewives could be fun or covering someone in cut cukes or subbing the Dove bottle for the ever-present iPod as a fashion accessory - anything but gay porn selling body wash!
Exactly. I'd like to see the "kids" turned loose in more big companies instead of performing stunts like washing dogs.
Cut cukes instead of rose petals! Terrific visual!
(Rummy, Camilla and Charles would be a fun threesome, however.)
In fairness, I use a "body wash" to shave with (facial hair). Its smooth and actually works as good as anything I use. I shave in the shower, so now, after going through BWs that get cancelled, I just use the same to wash and shave with.
Anybody else think Magna could have used my man, Danny?
tonight at 9 pm est bump!
Sorry I'm late. Apprentice Ping! Tonight, 9pm
checking in late as usual, have to watch it on tape. Don't like anyone on Magna. Networth definitely has creativity going for them and they work together. I think they would have done better in New York with a casting director if they had used the internet for additional advertising like last season with the bridal shop, they had a line of customers outside the door before they even opened.
With Michael gone (and that definitely looked like a "make-up call" for the Exemption Challenge - it seemed like Trump was going out of his way to jump all over him), Chris is the only one of the "definitely will be fired" group left and then things get interesting.
Bren has had two bad weeks in a row and I think he is fading fast. He needed to bounce back from the gay cucumber thing and he PM's a losing and rather unimaginative effort (btw, where do these people manage to *park* their trailers in NYC anyway??).
Angie has now been the star in two winning efforts. I know Tana was the PM but Angie would have taken the heat if the casting call idea flopped. It was creative and somewhat daring given this wasn't a sure-fired success. The Net Worth team obviously works well together now that they've jettisoned Brian and Kristen, the ego twins.
Magna is just flat out giving college education a bad name. All these lawyers are showing themselves for the snakes they truly are. They just can't work and play well with others. When Bren said in the boardroom that he would like to trade some candidates with Net Worth, he was essentially admitting that nobody on his team is particularly creative - and that's a death sentence both in terms of getting the team to work better and his own chances of survivng much longer before Trump.
Stephanie also has been in the boardroom twice and while she hasn't been damaged much yet (thanks to Michael and Danny being such losers), she's eventually going to get sucked into the undertow if she doesn't do better.
They finally got rid of whinny and complaining can't do anything Michael. Poor boy had to hand out flyers to potential customers! Oh, the agony of it. All that college education wasted. Liked Magna's idea of a mobile spa. They just didn't generate enough business. And they better start thinking outside the books if they want to win.
As to where they found places to park those trailers, there was probably some pre-arrangement made with the city. Just loved the way Net Worth decorated theirs.
Your comments are spot on, so now I don't have to write any. LOL.
Did you notice Michael's peculiar red suitcase? Was there something just a bit swishy about him? I did wonder a few times about his attitude, which seemed 'way too soft. Whoever said he "lacked fire" in the boardroom absolutely nailed him, imo.
I liked Angie's earlier performance, but found her execution lacking this week, though the idea was good. Location would determine success, one would think. Did they park in the theatre district? Many classes for actors are given near there, also near Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. Even giving out flyers in those areas would have brought actors and wannabes to their trailer door, phoning up acting and singing coaches would have helped too.
Agreed. For the casting director, location would have been critical. I never heard them mention *where* the trailer was but youbetcha I'd be parking that sucker as close to the theatres and acadamies as possible. It appeared that word of mouth is what made up for their slow start.
In any task, the two stars are going to be the PM and the person who came up with the primary idea that they run with. Sometimes, they're one and the same. Usually then, it's their heads on the chopping block if they lose but they also make the best impression on Trump if they win.
Yes, the men are dropping like flies this year but they've all deserved it, other than Todd who was gone before we could decide if he was really incompetent or just bit off too much being PM the first week. The more I see of these candidates, I keep asking "how did these guys make the final cut?" There was, on another thread, a mention that they had over 500,000 applicants - and this was the best they could get???
BTW, from the NBC site, they've extended the deadline time for applications for Apprentince 4, which could mean they aren't getting nearly the quality of applicants they were expecting. They must be down to American Idol rejects now.
