Word For The Day, Friday, 12/31/04

In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".

diaphanous

adj. ; dia·pha·nei·ty (d-f-n-t) or di·apha·nous·ness n. di·apha·nous·ly adv.

1. Of such fine texture as to be transparent or translucent: diaphanous tulle. 2.Characterized by delicacy of form. See Synonyms at airy. 3.Vague or insubstantial: diaphanous dreams of glory

Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

Well, we're off to Salisbury to do the kind of shopping I really do enjoy.....We're heading for Atlantic Books.....my absolute favorite bookstore in the WORLD!!!!

The UN's critisism of the US was diaphanous attempt to make Geroge Bush look bad. Happily, most right thinking americans saw right through it.

i sure do plan on it. The last time I was in there I bought over $200 worth of books and got change from a $20!!!

That's my idea of shopping!
