Heheh - you'll love the otherwise unemployable, English is NOT my first, or even second, language gropers in the AUS.
What a joke is Homeland Insecurity.
Desert cheers out there.
Wire story updated:Bush said he talked to the leaders in the affected region and was working to target initial relief efforts to the things those leaders most needed.
Bush also said he was concerned the Asian region wasn't prepared with a warning system that foretold the massive tsunamis and that he supported creation of a worldwide warning system. ``It makes sense for the world to come together to develop a warnings system to help all nations,'' he said.
The president also pointedly dismissed a United Nation official's suggestion that rich nations like the United States have been ``stingy'' in relief efforts. ``I felt like the person who made that statement was very misguided and ill informed,'' Bush said. "
Thwack ! LOL. Today, President Bush, after dressing down that UN jerk, announced that he had, in effect, circumvented the UN by putting together his own "Disaster Relief Coalition" with Japan, Australia and India.
Isn't it ironic that every insignificant reporter and insipid bureaucrat everywhere feel free to condemn the US at will.... We either do too much or we don't do enough, we're arrogant or imperialistic. Some even say we think we're the world's policeman. Well, if we aren't, then how come every time the world dials 911, it rings in the good ol U.S.A. ?
I fully agree about witholding further funding. Annan & Son are but the tip of the iceberg that need to go. In fact, the whole blasted dis-organization probably needs to be put out to pasture.
Not only does Kofi refuse to step down, he won't release the records and books so a proper investigation can occur. The whole place ought to be cordoned off, everybody escorted out of the building and let the searches and forensic recoveries begin.
I think President Bush is just letting the UN die a natural death. LOL
Ousted CalPERS president convinced governor helped bounce him
AP, 12/29/04, Jim Wasserman
SACRAMENTO -- Sean Harrigan, ousted as president of the $182.8 billion California Public Employees Retirement System, said in an interview Wednesday that he's still convinced Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Walt Disney Co. and Safeway Inc., played significant roles in his departure.
"I was totally convinced in early December and late November, and I'm totally convinced today, the Chamber of Commerce and Steve Burd and Michael Eisner and the Schwarzenegger administration played a key role in making sure I wasn't re-elected by the state personnel board to the CalPERS board," Harrigan said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press Wednesday from Spokane, Wash.
"It was the only place they could take me out," he said.
Of Harrigan's comments, Schwarzenegger spokeswoman Margita Thompson said "it's too bad the holiday season hasn't done away with Mr. Harrigan's paranoia."
The Euroweenies like France and third world dictators will keep giving it infusions of life support I'm afraid. Maybe the best we can hope for is to contain it so it can't do more damage. Rwanda, Oil for Fraud, sexual exploitation of Congolese women and girls.....lovely.
Their credibility is shot though, it's going to be interesting that's for sure. I've been doing some research on political positions of various church denominations and it's eye-widening to read the ones who want to give the UN such power and omnipotent wisdom to decide world affairs....yikes!
US REBEL (RAMSEY CLARK) JOINS SADDAM LEGAL TEAM
BBC News, 12/29/04
Former US attorney general Ramsey Clark has joined the team of Jordan-based lawyers defending Saddam Hussein.
Mr Clark - who held office in the 1960s under President Lyndon Johnson - said his principal concern was protecting the rights of the former Iraqi leader.
Saddam Hussein this month saw a lawyer for the first time since his capture.
Left-wing activist Mr Clark described the special tribunal established to try members of the former regime as a creation of the US military occupation.
He said it had no authority in law as a criminal court.
Mr Clark is joining a panel of about 20 prominent Arab and non-Arab lawyers who have volunteered to defend the former Iraqi leader.
He is an outspoken critic of American foreign policy on Iraq and visited Saddam Hussein in Baghdad in February 2003 just before the US-led invasion.
After leaving office in 1969, he became active in the anti-Vietnam War movement. More recently, he has offered legal advice to numerous figures at odds with the US government including former Yugoslav president Slobodan Milosevic.
Lol, lol, lol!!!!
Cheers back to you - we're heading up to Phoenix tomorrow. I hope you have a wonderful New Year.
That depends, if I have an excellent lunch and dont fall asleep at the computer I rest my eyes for about an hour at 5pm., but many times I am out doing something so it really is not a fixed habit.
Supper is a sometime thing ranging from a Tuna fish sandwich, a BLT or a media racione of Raxo in the bar downstairs. Raxo, pronounced Rasho is pork with red and green peppers all cut into small pieces on a bed of soft French fries, with a red wine or two, depending how long they take to cook it. The have other things I have occasionally but that is the cheapest and I have a penchant for comeda economica that is bad for me.
Breakfast is when I get up if I feel like it.. As I am retired now for quite a few years it is about 8 or 9am in winter. About twice a week I have bacon eggs and toast, but mostly it is either nothing, or a couple slices of toast with Philadelphia, Salmon or Blue cream Cheese.

Thank you....now what was it like before you retired....I am trying to get an idea of the life style and if you eat a late supper what do you sleep and awake?
Kofi Annan makes me want to HURL!! This African jerk doesn't even care that he's STEALING money meant to feed his OWN people that are dying of starvation and AIDS!! The entire United Nothings is a joke and should fold it's tent. I wish the US would at least kick their butts out of the country. Of course Canada's Ass is glued to the UN because our Liberal politicans are just as corrupt. That's why I only give to private or church related missions.
Good question? How come the ER number rings in the USA? One thing that did bother me recently tho was with ALL the outright, in your face, CORRUPTION by Arafat, WHY did the US just give them another 20 million? Arafat had BILLIONS stashed away. Why can't these Arabs use THAT money that they didn't deserve in the first place?
Kofi is it not the plural of coffer?
Coffer
A strongbox.
often coffers
Financial resources; funds.
A treasury: stole money from the union coffers.
Architecture. A decorative sunken panel in a ceiling, dome, soffit, or vault.
The chamber formed by a canal lock.
A cofferdam.
A floating dock.
What a shocking difference!! I'm going to go look at the thread now.
They love fancy portals here
I don't know resty. All I know is some of those definitions seem to fit him well.
One day when I lived in Colorado, we'd just gotten out of church and there is this big park between church and where our house was. The park was full of robins. I'd bet there wasn't a square foot of fround in that park that didn't have at least one robin on it. One of the strangest sights I ever saw. Never seen it before or since.
I can't believe this tsunami is "all Bush's and the U.S.'s fault" - AGAIN. Geez.
