Any recommendations for Christmas dinner?
I'm inclined to go with an Australian Shiraz for the red. But I really don't like white wine, so I don't really know what to get.
I've got a couple of standards that we usually get. But I'm willing to try something new.
I gotta learn more about selecting wines...
Boones Farm Strawberry Hill.
Goes with anything, even a paper cup.
New Zealand Sauv Blanc. Definitely I really, really like Cloudy Bay and Kim Crawford, but those are more expensive. Giesen is nice. Or Marlborough.
Bolla's Valpolicelli is a nice hearty red...
Merlot is always a good choice...
course, Rye whiskey goes well with pork...
If not Aussie, I *do* recommend any Llano Estacado or Fall Creek (Texas) wines...in particular the Llano blush or the Fall Creek chardonney.
I'm not a hugh fan of Chardonnay, but I have tried one that I like. It's from Columbia Crest, a winery up in WA, I believe. But then I like White Zinfandel, so that tells you something about MY tastes! ;o)
